@Artem Dyvysenko Hi Artem, lovely how passionate you are. I’m sure @Sifu Aron might have some suggestions. Also, feel free to change your Skool profile to Artem so there is no misunderstanding as when I reply, it immediately goes to your login Oksana as a default by Skool. ☺️

@Artem Dyvysenko Artem, very cool. And yes, very true. I have only practiced chi Sao in partner drills.
What Is Kung Fu?
When most people hear the words Kung Fu, they think of martial arts. They picture punches, kicks, self-defence or perhaps a scene from a movie. While those things are certainly part of the art, they don't explain what Kung Fu really is. The term describes skill developed through time, patience and dedicated practice. It isn't something that can be rushed or bought; it is earned through consistent effort. Martial arts simply provide one of the many ways to explore that idea. That's why people who train for years often discover they're learning much more than techniques. Training teaches us to be patient when progress feels slow, disciplined enough to keep showing up, and humble enough to realise there is always more to learn. The techniques may become familiar, but the lessons continue to deepen. In many ways, that's the real journey of Kung Fu, not arriving at a destination, but continually becoming a better version of yourself. What does the word "Kung Fu" mean to you today, and how has it changed since you joined our community?

When I started Wing Chun I did it with the aim of helping my body become stronger and it was very much about techniques, form, physical discipline. But life happened and I had to take nearly a year off from training and now I’m using Kung Fu principles as my rehab. It’s much more about cultivating my warrior in every day life than in the kwoon. My biggest opponent is my ego. I need so much discipline, willpower, smart use of my energy and mindfulness in everyday life tasks, that I’m beyond grateful for Kung Fu as it teaches me these skills in a very fun way with an awesome community around me. I love it and am deeply grateful for it. ❤️‍🔥
Train Together. Grow Together.
One of the biggest misconceptions about Kung Fu is that it's an individual pursuit. People imagine hours spent practising forms alone or learning to fight, but the reality is very different. Some of the greatest lessons in Kung Fu come from the people you train with. Your training partners challenge you when you're comfortable, encourage you when you're struggling and celebrate your progress along the way. A good training partner isn't there to beat you, they're there to help you become better. At Kung Fu Blue Mountains, we don't just practise techniques. Every class is an opportunity to develop patience, awareness, respect and the ability to support others. The techniques are important, but they are simply the vehicle through which we cultivate ourselves and learn lessons that extend well beyond the training hall. That's why we say Train Together. Grow Together. Kung Fu isn't a destination; it's a lifelong journey, and no one walks that journey alone. What is one lesson you've learned from a training partner that has changed the way you train, or even the way you live? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

I love our community in the school. So supportive and helpful. And we laugh a lot while practicing new moves. 😃
Learning to Live Kung Fu
When people hear the words Kung Fu, they often think about punches, kicks and self-defence. Those things are part of the journey, but they are not the destination. Every class is an opportunity to develop discipline, awareness, patience and respect. Through consistent practice, we learn to face challenges with confidence, respond rather than react, and continually improve ourselves. The goal isn't simply to become better martial artists. It's to become better people. Kung Fu is not about learning to fight. It's about learning to live. What lesson has life been teaching you lately?

Thank you @Sifu Aron . Such a great reminder. Especially as for me Kung Fu is much more of an internal journey these days and practising is my chosen form of rehab, regeneration and healing. And I love it! So thank you for the reminder...Kung Fu is learning to live. Such a powerful statement! 💥
Kung Fu Blue Mountains — Where Martial Arts Become a Way of Life
Welcome, it's great to have you here. At Kung Fu Blue Mountains, we believe: "Kung Fu is not something you do. It's someone you become." Whether you're new to traditional martial arts or have trained for many years, you're warmly welcome. This community is for people who want to explore the deeper principles of Wing Chun Kung Fu, Yang Style Tai Chi and Hermetic Qigong, and discover how they can be understood, practiced and integrated into everyday life. Most people discover Kung Fu because they want to learn martial arts. They stay because they realise it's about something much deeper. The arts themselves are only the beginning. Wing Chun, Tai Chi and Qigong are the vehicles we use to explore universal principles, principles that aren't limited to a particular style or even to martial arts. They can be recognised and applied wherever we seek to grow, whether that's in our training, our work, our relationships or the everyday challenges of life. Kung Fu is not about learning to fight. It's about learning to live. Everything you'll find here is guided by that philosophy. Together, we'll explore not only techniques, but the principles behind them through discussions, reflections, practical exercises and training ideas that help transform understanding into daily practice. 👋 Introduce Yourself Please create an introduction post and tell us: - Your name - Where you're joining from - Do you practise a martial art? - What inspired you to join? - What's one topic you'd love to learn more about? Feel free to include a photo or share a little about your journey. 📚 Explore the Community Click Categories above to explore the different areas of the community.
