Sara, I appreciate your honesty. I do not believe praying for your business is selfish when your desire is to serve people well, provide for your family, and steward your gifts faithfully. Prayer is not asking God to guarantee sales. It is inviting Him into your decisions, motives, relationships, and work. I have had seasons where my prayers were focused almost entirely on the target. I prayed for a certain revenue number, a deal to close, or a specific opportunity to come through. Over time, I realized I was often asking God to bless my plan instead of asking Him for the wisdom to lead the business in His name. My prayers began to change. Instead of only asking, “God, help me hit this number,” I started asking, “Give me wisdom. Show me who I am called to serve. Protect me from opportunities that look profitable but pull me away from You. Help me lead with integrity, courage, and faithfulness.” Sometimes His answer is growth. Sometimes it is redirection. Sometimes it is endurance while He develops something in us before He changes what is around us. I will be praying that God gives you wisdom, peace, discernment, and the courage to keep moving faithfully without using prayer or relationships as pressure to purchase. Your business results do not determine God’s love for you, and uncertainty does not mean He has abandoned the work.
