Photographer Highlight!
Highlighting a few images from this stunning wedding shot by @Abigail Darnell and editing by @Lindsay Wells honestly the way Abbi captured even the simplest thing in the dreamiest way is just so beautiful! She also did a great job of using the light she had in different ways! Also @Lindsay Wells crushed the job of making these images the best they can be without the edit taking over - way to go team! What do you love about these photos?

@Abigail Darnell loved the way that you exposed the photos - the sunlight is so beautiful and adds to the dreaminess. also love the way you framed them - unique and made me so much more attentive to the details in the photos
Proposal Shoot Advice
Hey yall, I’m taking my friends proposal pictures this weekend and I’m super nervous because I haven’t done anything like this yet! Anyone have any tips for me? It’s at 3:30pm and it’ll be shaded by a fire pit at a lake house.

Overcommunicate with the guy!! Ask if there are any expectations he has for where you hide, be clear on what direction he's coming from, and make sure you're super clear on details like these leading up to it. Knowing that I have all of the information possible and am exactly where I need to be gives me a lot of peace and confidence!!! I've had some nightmare proposals where I wasn't given enough info/the guy didn't communicate well and though they always turn out fine, it makes it significantly more stressful to me when I don't feel like I'm on the same page. As for when the proposal is actually happening - totally agree with what Laurel said about being super still. From there, once he's been on a knee for a second, I feel comfortable moving in a little closer (obviously still giving them space/intimacy/letting them be in the moment) to get more of a variety of shots and make sure I actually get what they want. I always ask the guy on a call before hand if he minds me moving in closer once it's clear he's going to propose, and nobody has ever cared - they just want the shot!! Also, I try to give them 5-10 minutes after the proposal is over to chat/have a second/catch their breath and have a moment just them. It makes photos go smoother when they're not talking the entire time, and makes them a little more focused on photos!! And it gives me confidence that I have given them space/am not being annoying to them or imposing on any moment. Hope this helps!! @Annie Dundorf
Engagement Shoot
I just did my first paid engagement shoot the other night and would love criticism/feedback on a couple of the pictures from it!

what a great accomplishment!!! how do you feel about how they turned out? I love constructive criticism, but just a reminder that if you feel like the photos turned out how you intended and are a reflection of the way you intended to capture what you saw - feel pride in that!!

@Amy Borisuk art is objective :) that is both a blessing and a curse! I think they turned out great and are something you should be proud of!
Social Media thoughts
I've been thinking a lot about social media, how it feels like Instagram punishes you via the algorithim if you post less, and just overall sharing in an authentic way. I'm tired of being on social media, but as a business tool it feels invaluable. I feel drained/discouraged by the idea, so hopeful for some tips/encouragement as to how to stay consistent, authentic, and use social media for the advantage that it genuinely is!!

Learning more about flash and haven’t used it a ton - would love for best tips/advice/tricks people have that they love!
