Best free AI agent these days
It i the Google Gemini cli tool in my opinion 1000 requests for free per day on the 2.5 pro model (which is really good. Especially at planning) https://blog.google/technology/developers/introducing-gemini-cli-open-source-ai-agent/

I’ve really enjoyed Claude code so far. While expensive, it’s hugely productive. I love the way it can just pump out tasks from start to finish. It allows me to easily do other things while it works. Does google’s work this way?
Part 1 of full build is now in classroom! Check it out!
The first (& I think the most crucial part) of the course has been uploaded now. The architecture & planning which covers - Foundation PRD - Screens - Database - Security 80% of the effort in AI coding is in the planning stages.. Direct link: https://www.skool.com/idea-to-app-3209/classroom/e615a87c?md=a1d211fa36054a728054afe698e5541f The remaining videos are coming. I'm traveling & its harder/slower to review etc. It took about 15 hours to record & a lot more hours & people to edit. Editing/reviewing etc is a slow process but a lot of people have been asking for this already. Looking forward to hearing feedback & see how everyone learns along the journey. Drop comments as you watch here!

Gonna start implementing this workflow right away. Will start with frontend and mocked data first
Bubble only for backend
My biggest gripe with Bubble has always been the slowness of page loads / interaction. I started experimenting with recreating my frontend using next js and using bubble as my API and database, with good results. API responses tend to be fast enough such that it doesn't become a bottleneck. Page loads quickly and i can use skeletons for dynamic elements while the page fetches data from bubble. I can also save some things to local storage if i want to show some data instead of the skeleton, and replace that data with the latest version when the API response comes in.

The productivity level is hard to beat, even with AI, because I dont spend any time fixing things that AI can break or implement incorrectly. I've also had cursor run some migrations to my DB that broke a lot of things and it left me a bit traumatized. I'm a big fan of the idea of continuing to use Bubble when possible because there's a lot of value there if you can work around the front-end slowness.

Yeah I see it that way too. Would like to move off bubble when possible but I don’t know how to deal with AI for supabase well because it breaks things and I end up not being productive.
Convex even without auth?
Would it be worth using convex for DB and supabase for auth? I've heard great things about developer experience with convex. Can you elaborate a bit more about why you ruled out convex?

Welcome! Introduce Yourself & What You're Building 👇
Hey everyone, welcome to Idea to App! To kick things off, let's get to know each other. Please copy and paste the template below and post your own introduction in the comments. 1. Who are you? (Your name and what you do) 2. What's your app idea? (Don't worry if it's just a rough concept! We're all at different stages.) 3. What's the #1 thing holding you back right now? (e.g., "I don't know where to start," "I'm stuck on a technical problem," "I need to find my first users.") Don't be shy! Answering these questions is the best way for me to know how I can help you, and for you to connect with other members who might be on the exact same journey. I'll read and reply to every single introduction. So excited to have you here. Let's get building!

1. I'm Bernardo, from Brasil. 2. I founded Cuida Lar (cuidalar.com.br) with bubble.io and have started moving parts of if off bubble for better performance. 3. I still see great benefit to keeping things on bubble.io because I'm very productive at it, and its more predictable. However, I want to make sure I'm integrating other tools in my stack when it makes sense because I realize bubble is very bad performance-wise. I love learning new things and have started using next.js with cursor and it's been great.

@Zubair Kakakhel I started with my landing page. As far as I know, the speed score makes a big difference to your ad spend on google ads, so i started with that because in Bubble the page speed was abysmal. I've thought about rebuilding other parts of the app but haven't prioritized because it doesn't seem to be a bottleneck yet. However, I want to start building up my skills now so that when I do tackle it, I don't break my head too much.
