@Josiah Six as a business owner that has a sales team, I would like to share my perspective here. I would absolutely love to hire someone like you. The less I have to worry this is your only income; the longer I know you can hold out to close better deals within our ICP, the better you are for the company. We often see desperate new salespeople close deals that are on the very low edge of our minimum or not quite on target. We often have to allow it so they can have the win, those clients become the most expensive and often least satisfied. That being said, one could understand why some owners are concerned that you will receive a lot of expensive and time consuming training only to become distracted by your other income. It costs our company $10k - $15k to get you fully up to speed. My suggestion, and the way I view all relationships, is be honest and address the concerns upfront before they ask. Like every sales pitch, address the objections upfront before they become objections. I don’t know what you sell, but DM.
