Step 1: Distribute Your Music Before creating an artist account, your music must be available on Spotify. To do this: 1. Choose a Music Distributor: Use a digital music distribution service like DistroKid(this is what I use, “Musician Plus” plan $44.99/yrs), TuneCore, CD Baby, or others. These platforms will upload your music to Spotify and other streaming services. 2. Upload Your Music: Follow your distributor’s instructions to upload your tracks, album art, and metadata. 3. Wait for Approval: Once your music is live on Spotify, you can claim your artist profile. Step 2: Claim Your Artist Profile 1. Go to Spotify for Artists: Visit https://artists.spotify.com and click "Claim Your Profile". 2. Search for Your Artist Name: Enter your artist name to find your profile. 3. Verify Your Identity: Spotify will ask you to verify that you’re the artist or their representative. You may need to: - Log in to your distributor account. - Provide a link to your music on Spotify. - Submit additional documentation if required. - Submit Your Request: Once verified, submit your request to claim the profile.
