I cannot believe that we have 300 super cool language learners in this community I LOVE this community and I what WE created It's a place that is constantly growing, evolving and getting better I am planning to: - Add Language resource chests in the classroom soon for every knight (lvl 4) - Create 2 posts daily - 1 Value and 1 fun :) - Keep on hosting super valuable group calls every Tuesday - Launch the language leagues when we hit 444 members - Launch big giveaways when we hit 555 members - and launch IRL language meetups when we hit 1111 members - to get the star (We deserve it) - A better way to track accountability companions and a simple way every members can show up to the community and learn something (Thanks @Anouchka Hanneman for the idea) ALSO CONGRATS @Ruth aka Grace Rose you are our first Wizard!! (lvl 7) WOW!!!! But of course without all of you all, none of these ideas would come alive So I would love if anyone has any more ideas to share Also LETS GOOOO!!!! ps: I will be changing the about page a bit and some stuff up to attract more serious learners in our community :)

My attention span sucked, I couldn't focus on things for long periods of time, I hated studying and learning grammar rules.... But 1 day that changed.. And the reason for that is that I stopped learning languages alone I would do it with friends, random people, family And we would support each other and keep each other accountable ALSO it was just super fun!! So I want to do something similar in this community BUT 10x cooler 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡: - Accountability companions (You make friends, keep each other accountable AND learn together) - A new 5 day language learning Quest for anyone new that is SOO cool! - A brand new amazing classroom (Super valuable) - 4 Language Guilds that will have monthly competitions and also win prizes. (Asian Guild, Latin Guild, Slavic Guild and the Germanic guild) - A 4 week language adventure! Wayyy more cool stuff ALL FOR FREE (for the companions you need to be lvl 3 and for the language guild battles and adventure you need to be 5 & 6) The official launch date will be Drum roll .... ... ... .. 🥁 🥁 🥁 🥁 🥁 🥁 🥁 ..... 🥁 🥁 ... 🥁 🥁 February 10th!!! This was sooo fun!! @Akash Raj Did amazing and finished all 5 days!!! LETS GOOO @Patrick Gulland Was learning Russian and he did GREAT!! Also he turned into a virtuoso (lvl 6) @Emma Fábryová Did all 5 days and was AMAZING!! Her Spanish pronunciation is just FANTASTIC!! @Gerardo Patino Did AMAZING!! Bro is sooo inspring. Your portuguese is getting better and better @Demetra Lambros Was also learning Spanish and she finished strong!!! I've always loved etymology. Yes, nerd from the get-go. ☺️ Maybe that explains why I got interested in the Greek language, marrying a Greek guy, living in Greece for 20+ years.... Not sure. But maybe? 😁 ANYWAY. IF YOU KNOW HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH, you've got a major head start on learning Greek. If you know what the ROOTS of English words mean, you've got a HUUUUGE head start. Let's look at the word "synergy." The Parts: - Συν- (syn-) = "together, with" - Ἔργον (ergon) = "work, action, deed" So literally: "working together" You know these words: Words with SYN- (together): - Symphony (syn + phone = sounds together) - Synchronize (syn + chronos = time together) - Synthesis (syn + thesis = putting together) Words with -ERG- (work): - Energy (en + ergon = work within) - Ergonomic (ergon + nomos = work law/rule) Another thing I love about this word: 1 + 1 doesn't equal 2 when people work together — it equals something greater. That's synergy. The whole becomes more powerful than the sum of its parts. In Greek cooking terms? When you combine olive oil, lemon, and oregano, each is good alone, but together (συν-) they create (ἔργον) something more magnificent than any single ingredient. That's etymology meeting cooking. 😁 I posted this in my community but I thought it ya'll would like it so sharing it here as well.
