Book 2, Freely Given is avalibale for pre-order now. Blurb She said two words to a book that had already written her name. Take me. The register took the offer. It did not take her. It spent the offer on her sister, and it wrote Poppy Rooke into a column that has been used nine times in three hundred and thirty-six years — and Marlowe Rooke has five weeks to buy it back. She has a stolen ledger that will not open where she wants it. She has a professor who has not spoken aloud since 1846, who put four hundred words in the margins of her essays twice a week for seven months, and who now refuses to help her — flatly, immediately, without giving her a reason. And she has one precedent. In 1966 three women tried what she is planning. It killed two of them instead of one. Substitution does not substitute. An offer freely given is not a swap. It is an additional consent. Somewhere under the Vesper Conservatory there is a woman who has kept the register since 1690 and has never once been able to help anybody. Ninety minutes inland there is a mother who was told a name in a corridor four hours after her daughter was born and has never understood what it does. And in Threadneedle there is a nineteen-year-old who has worked out exactly what her sister is doing, and who is not going to be the thing in the fourth column while everybody decides about her in rooms she is not in. Marlowe is very good at three things. The third one is keeping a record. She is about to find out what her own name is for. Freely Given is the second book of The Sable Gate — a slow-burn dark gothic romantasy about consent, arithmetic, and the difference between a thing taken and a thing given. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HLWXNKM6

🚨 We are officially in Q4.
So I have a question for you… 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗶𝘁? At the beginning of 2026, a lot of you set a goal to publish a book this year. Well… we are officially entering the final quarter of the year, and now it’s my job to start holding you accountable. 👀 I’m going to be checking in to see who actually followed through and published their book this year — and who still has some work to do. But here’s the important part: 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘆𝗲𝘁, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲. You still have three full months left. Three months is enough time to: Finish that manuscript you keep putting off Get your book edited and formatted Finalize your cover Upload it to KDP Hit 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗛 You do not need another January 1st to start over. You need to decide that 𝗤𝟰 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱. So tell me below: 📚 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲? Put it in the comments. Make it public. Let us hold you accountable. @𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗔𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗿 - you set a goal to get a book done by Jan will we be seeing it happen? @Linda Maples - I know you had another book idea you wanted to tackle did you get that project across the finish line? @Liisa Reimann - I'm putting you in the hot seat because at the end of 2025 you wanted to publish an authority building book. @Diana Gamble - Let's not forget about your goal to get a book published in 2026! @Lynsey Wall - I know you were thinking about publishing an updated journal. How's that project progressing? @Nicole Lesley - I know you've been actively working on your book project so I'm eager to hear your updates!
