🌿 A Little Reflection from Me 🌿
The garden is growing fast. The hedgerows are full. The days are long. And yet today, at least here, the sky is grey and the rain is falling. I've been a little quieter in the community over the last few days because I've been trying to get my head around Meta (Facebook) ads. It's felt like I've been going round in circles at times—frustrating, time-consuming, and definitely not what I'd choose to be doing with my days! But it's a necessary part of running a business and reaching more people. It reminded me that growth doesn't always happen in sunshine. Sometimes growth happens quietly. Sometimes it happens underground. Sometimes it happens when we're forced to slow down and focus on the things we'd rather avoid. In my case, that meant going back to basics and following step-by-step processes. Not an easy ask for an ADHD brain that likes to jump ahead! But persevere I have, and success has finally come. While the rain has been falling outside, the flowers have been blooming and the garden has been having a good drink. And while I've been glued to my laptop, determined to find the answers, I've realised I've actually grown in knowledge and understanding too. I've been trying to master this stuff for years, and something has finally clicked. When I've felt overwhelm creeping in, I've reached for my rose petal spray, taken a mindful moment, and brought myself back to the present. I'm pleased to report that I've managed to stay calm and centred... ...and I have successfully refrained from throwing my laptop out of the window. 😆 So today's journal prompt is: ✨ What in my life is growing right now, even if I can't fully see it yet? Perhaps it's confidence.Perhaps it's a new idea.Perhaps it's a relationship, a skill, or a deeper connection to yourself. Nature doesn't rush the process, and neither do we. I'd love to hear your reflections below if you'd like to share. 🌿

I'm interested in the Rose petals spray you mentioned. What is that? How do you make it? How do you use it? Thank you!
🌿 Elderflower Season is Here 🌿
One of my favourite signs that summer has arrived is the fizz of elderflowers dotted through the hedgerows. These creamy-white blooms are more than just beautiful—they can be transformed into delicious seasonal treats that capture a little of early summer in a bottle or on a plate. Always pick elderflowers on a warm, dry, sunny day when the flowers are fully open and rich in nectar. This is when their fragrance and flavour are at their best. ✨ Here are two simple ways to enjoy them: Elderflower Cordial You'll need: - 20 elderflower heads - 1 litre water - 750g sugar - 2 lemons, sliced - 25g citric acid (optional, for longer storage) Method: 1. Gently shake the elderflower heads to remove any insects. Avoid washing them as you'll lose some of the flavour. 2. Place the flowers and lemon slices into a large bowl. 3. Bring the water and sugar to a gentle boil until dissolved. 4. Pour over the flowers and lemons. 5. Stir in the citric acid if using. 6. Cover and leave for 24-48 hours. 7. Strain through muslin or a fine sieve and bottle. Dilute with still or sparkling water and enjoy a taste of summer. ✨ Elderflower Fritters You'll need: - 8-10 fresh elderflower heads - 100g plain flour - 1 egg - 150ml milk - A pinch of salt - Oil for frying - Optional: a dusting of icing sugar or a drizzle of honey Method: 1. Mix the flour, egg, milk and salt into a smooth batter. 2. Hold each elderflower by the stalk and dip the flower head into the batter. 3. Fry gently for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden. 4. Drain on kitchen paper. 5. Serve warm with a little honey or icing sugar. 🌿 A few foraging tips: • Only pick elderflowers from clean areas away from busy roads.• Leave plenty behind for pollinators and for the elderberries that will follow later in the year.• Pick on a dry sunny day when the flowers are freshly opened and at their most fragrant. Have you spotted elderflower yet where you live? And if you have a favourite elderflower recipe, I'd love to hear about it below. 🌿

I love them!🥰 My own bush is too small to have many flowers. But my neighbors also have a large property with at least a dozen bushes and I'm free to harvest as much as I want! Will definitely try both your recipes! Thank you!

Hello all. My name is Barbara, Bärbel is my local nickname. I'm located in Czech Republic and have a large property of 2500sqm. As I love living with nature and not against it, my garden is basically natural, only the paths to different areas, such as my fishpond, my compost or my fruit plants are being mowed every 2-3 weeks. I'm looking forward to learning more about living in the rhythm of the moon and seasons and getting myself grounded again, as my mental health is really struggling. At the moment I'm quite overwhelmed with the challenges of life 🥺. I have dogs and cats and am planning on getting a couple of ducks, geese and sheep. My hobbies are, my garden (obviously) as well as crafting (knitting, crochet, stitching and sewing)
