natal / star charts- Are you a believer?
I want to share a little about natal / star charts and why I’ve come to appreciate them more deeply over time. For most of my life, I was a skeptic. Not a hard no, but definitely a “this feels interesting… with a giant beach of salt.” That skepticism is ironic, considering my maternal great-great-grandmother was a palmist, and belief in these systems was simply woven into her way of life. Over the years, something softened. Maybe it was learning that we’re literally made of the same carbon as the stars. Maybe it was seeing my own charts and noticing how uncannily they reflected my inner life, my patterns, and my long arcs of becoming. Or moments like when Anna shared about the impact our thoughts have on our cells, and how our cells, in turn, affect the world around us. That felt like a bridge between science and mystery I could actually stand on. I don’t see charts as fate or fortune-telling. I see them as maps. Frameworks. Mirrors. Another way of understanding the raw materials we’re given and how we might work with them more consciously. For me, they’ve become a source of curiosity, wonder, and self-compassion rather than certainty. I’m sharing my own chart here not as proof of anything, but as an invitation to conversation. 💫 I’m curious: - Have you ever had your natal or star chart done? - Did it feel accurate, illuminating, neutral, or totally off-base? - Do you consider yourself a non-believer, a skeptic, somewhere-in-between, or all-in? - What frameworks (astrology, science, spirituality, psychology, or otherwise) help you make meaning of your life? There’s no right answer here. Just curiosity and conversation.

@Monica Downen Fascinating. Is the BBC giphy your own chart? Don't see it attached and would love to see! I haven't had my natal chart done and always curious. I am open to it's origins and skeptical until I've tested if it works in real life for myself and then for others. I don't know astrology but use science, spirituality, psychology as references, while treading lightly with personality tests like human design, etc. Mostly, I trust own inner wisdom/intuition from direct experience and what gives consistent results the most (after stress testing something out over and over and getting results.) Then I test it on others over and over. When I'm sure it works across many types of people, I'll bring it to my clients or community. I make sure never to get fixed beliefs of who I am. Ie. Even though I think I'm undiagnosed ADHD scoring like 90% on all the tests, I make sure I don't use any diagnosis/personality test as the reason for my behavior. To give myself compassion for a behavior I don't want. Yes, it can be helpful. But to use the test result as a reason "Oh, that's just my ADHD" every time I'm late now makes me not responsible for being on time, and pigeon holes me to one way of being. I believe we are constantly becoming, there's no set way we are. I've seen folks with severe asthma and breathing disabilities become the guinness world record holder as a swimmer for longest breath, or a severe brain trauma to a child become a world renowned brain coach. Or a guy with no limbs become an Olympian. If you believe you're bad at math, you will be. But that's not a fact. That's a repeated belief you tell yourself that then impacts your behaviors to cringe when numbers arise. If you release that limiting belief and simply do the work to learn math you would. Same for all other diagnosis. Our mind is what creates who we are so regardless of our biochemistry at birth, we have the power to change anything about ourselves.

@Heather Kohlmeister Yes! We are now going to turn this meditation into more of a workshop style of grounding, reflective journaling in silence, then some sharing to complete on 2025 and create space for 2026.
