I was running a call in my community today and one of my clients started talking about other sales coaches, and how what I was sharing was directly opposed to what they say What they taught was to say "yeah, yeah, uh huh" while other people talk During the sales drill, the "prospect" said he felt rushed, and that the "rep" wasn't listening. And this came from advice from 2 extremely well known sales coaches in our space. And I went on a rant, I'll probably upload it to youtube, about how you're taught to treat people like animals on calls. Interrupting someone when they're sharing something personal, then not acknowledging, and doing it all because your sales daddy said so You know why you lack sales? You lack the ability to think for yourself. Your mind and emotions run you, and you robotically do what your sales daddies say. If you learned how to truly communicate, and connect with people, you'd sell like a mf but instead, you do what you currently do. On your next call, don't say anything but "thank you / got it / I understand / good" immediately after they stop talking. This lets them know that you received their communication. That's how you make people feel heard. Listen, and acknowledge. Try it out :) and don't rush. Take your time.
