Editing with AI
What are your thoughts? I’ll go first. Spell check is AI. People have been using it in editing for decades. Now we have tools and software that can help us with flow, finding plot holes, and determining overused words. I’m here for it! As long as you are doing the writing and not using AI to write your story, I think it’s fine to have it help you read through and edit it.

I still prefer working with a professional editor. I hire an expert on Fiverr because nothing beats the human touch when it comes to understanding story, emotion, and flow.

@Nataleh Nicole, Oh, that's great. Are you also an author?
Scam
I’m going to make a blanket statement based on my research and reporting. IF YOU ARE A PUBLISHED AUTHOR and you receive an email from a “ Book Club” to be “featured” and their email is a GMAIL account, IT IS SPAM/SCAM.

I agree. As a published author, I've received quite a few of those emails. If it's coming from a Gmail address and asking to feature your book, I treat it as a red flag and ignore it. It's always worth verifying before responding.
What’s Your Editing Process?
After you finish your first draft, what steps do you take before formatting? Self editing, beta readers, developmental editing (paid), copy/line/grammatical editing (paid), then proof reading (paid)?

My process is pretty simple: I do a self-edit first, then I send it to a professional editor. After making the revisions, I do one final proofread before publishing. It's worked well for me so far.

What genre is your current manuscript? Have you published before or will this be your first?

I write dark romance and have published 5+ books on Amazon. My current manuscript is another dark romance, featuring morally gray characters, emotional intensity, and plenty of twists. I love creating stories that explore the darker side of love while still delivering compelling character growth and unforgettable relationships. I'm always looking forward to connecting with other writers, sharing experiences, and learning from authors across all genres.

Luna creates thrilling, chilling, but still romantic stories. She read Crime and Punishment at the age of 12 because she found the fact.
