Customer Experience is a Competitive Advantage.
In detailing, quality matters, but how the customer experiences your service often matters more. Quick response times, clear communication, follow-up after the job, and small touches like product care advice can make clients come back and refer others. Repeat clients scale a business faster than chasing one-off jobs. 💬 What’s one small change you made that improved client retention?

What is your best tip for stopping cancellations in the winter?
I have a good amount of cancellations recently since the winter. Typically they will cancel 24 hours before the appointment. Do you recommend taking a deposit or how should I go about preventing this?

Deposits 1000%, it seems like a scary concept at first and you think people will bitch and moan or stop coming ....... WRONG. I implemented deposits middle of last winter and haven't looked back. Never had a complaint/issue ever. Also only had 2 COMPLETE cancellations/ghosts ever and that's fine because I still kept their deposit
2025 Black Friday/Holiday Exclusives
Here's a look at the menu of services that I introduced this year for my first ever Black Friday/Holiday sale. So far it's been pretty popular, especially the ceramic coating package. Clients are eating it up and I took it off our virtual shop on the 30th. I just sent a round of emails/sms messages letting clients know that I will be extending the most of the deals through December except for the ceramic package.....(not really) lol it's not in the store anymore but if someone asks about it then I will tell them that I can hook them up for the one time but it's not going to be as low it was DURING the SALE 😉

Supply Disaster! Need Help Rebuilding with the BEST Concentrates (Bulk/ROI Focused)
Hey everyone, Taking a tough hit this week—I had an unfortunate event yesterday and lost roughly $500 to $600 worth of chemical supplies (so painful!). I'm using this setback as a forced opportunity to completely restructure my inventory around maximum cost-efficiency and professional quality. I'm done with smaller bottles; I'm going all-in on concentrates. I need the community's honest, battle-tested recommendations for the products you buy in bulk (gallons/5-gallons) that give you the absolute lowest cost-per-use (best ROI). đŸ§Ș My Shopping List (Need Concentrates For): 1. Car Wash Soap: Which hyper-concentrated, pH-neutral wash soap gives the best lubricity and dilution ratio? 2. All-Purpose Cleaner (APC): What is your go-to concentrate that handles everything? What are your standard dilution ratios for heavy (wheels/engine) vs. light (interior surfaces)? 3. Wheel & Tire Cleaner: Best non-acidic concentrate that cuts brake dust and grim effectively when diluted. 4. Tire & Trim Dressing: A high-quality, water-based concentrate that can be dialed in for different shine levels (e.g., 1:1 for gloss, 4:1 for matte)? 🏆 The Goal: I need chemicals that mix easily, are shelf-stable in bulk, and absolutely maintain that professional, \text{A+} finish. What brand and specific product name is your secret weapon for minimizing chemical costs while delivering superior results? Thanks in advance for helping me bounce back!
