🌸 Deep Dive: Maryam (عليها السلام)
— The Woman Chosen Above All Women Two days ago, we asked how many women are mentioned in the Qur’an by name. The answer - only one. Maryam (عليها السلام). Out of billions of women who have lived and will live, Allah chose her and He immortalized her name in His Book, dedicating an entire surah to her: Sūrah Maryam. “And [mention] when the angels said, ‘O Maryam, indeed Allah has chosen you, purified you, and chosen you above the women of all worlds.’”— Āl ʿImrān (3:42) Why Was She the Only Woman Named in the Qur’an? The scholars say it’s because her story stands beyond time and culture it is a story of purity, faith, and surrender. Maryam (عليها السلام) faced tests that would crush most hearts: being accused of immorality, bearing a child alone, enduring isolation and pain. Yet she never defended herself with words, she let Allah speak for her. “So she pointed to him. They said, ‘How can we speak to one who is in the cradle — a child?’” (19:29) And through her silence, Allah manifested a miracle — ‘Isa (عليه السلام) spoke. Her name endures because her faith was louder than her voice. So, why an Entire Surah Was Named After Her? Surah Maryam is one of the most tender, emotional chapters in the Qur’an. It weaves together stories of miracles Zakariyya, Yahya, Ibrahim, Musa, and Isa but at its heart is a woman who represents absolute tawakkul (trust in Allah). Through her, Allah teaches us that: - Modesty and strength can coexist. - Pain does not mean abandonment. - Silence can sometimes be the most powerful form of da‘wah. Her story is a reminder that honour doesn’t come from society, it comes from steadfastness in faith. 💭 Reflection: When the Qur’an tells us Maryam’s story, it isn’t just to praise her, it’s to show us what happens when a person’s reliance on Allah becomes complete. In moments when you feel alone, misunderstood, or weighed down by trials — remember, even Maryam (عليها السلام) once cried out: “Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten.” (19:23)

SubhanAllah this is wonderful. This story teaches something great, in the world or generation like ours, you need to learn to stop feeling the need to explain yourself to others for doing things that are pleasing to Allāh but displeasing to them. You don't have to explain your choices to them, leave them let them be and just have complete faith in Allāh to guide you and bless you
