Hi everyone, why do i need livekit cloud, when I can just use speech to speech models like Open-AI-Realtime-mini and livekit open source. This would save like crazy because then I am not limited by concurrency limits. Best

@John George just EC2 instances which autoscale on AWS. Concurrency restrictions make sense on telephony or GPU level. When I am using Twilio and OpenAI Realtime mini, which has gotten crazy cheap, I dont need another platform artifically restricting concurrency for no reason. With these realtime models, I dont have to worry about GPU autoscaling so autoscaling other components of voice AI is quite simple. Livekit Cloud with STT, LLM, TTS makes sense becasue it would be running on their GPUs and thats why restriction in concurrency. But with S2S models, we dont have to worry about concurrency.

Livekit launches Agent Builder, so no need for Vapi or Retell anymore

@Nir Simionovich did not know that Retell moved away from livekit . Retell has best performance out of all. Btw in Livekit you can add Ultravox and use it like this

I mean a system where one can do 10k calls per day. Has anyone built a system like this using livekit and pipecat. did you do it without using our own GPUs ?
