Poll: Best time for weekly group calls?
Currently we are getting together on a group call on Fridays @7:30pm (PDT). This call focuses on ear training, transcribing and analyzing real music. I'm going to be adding another weekly call that specifically focuses on chords and progressions in the context of composition. Ill be providing a chord type, feeling or full progression early in the week and everyone will be tasked with a composition goal. At the end of that week I'll be offering a group call to go over everyone's compositions. This poll is for this new call. I could potentially do another day but have a major preference to Monday currently, so please let me know! Im going to be getting a lot more active on ear so get psyched!

Exploring Ionian Tonality ☀️
𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮: R 2 3 4 5 6 7 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗖): C D E F G A B 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: Bright, Joyful, Heroic, Resolute Ionian, also known as the major scale, radiates a mood of optimism, triumph, and clarity. Its uplifting intervals (especially the major 3rd and 7th) create a sense of resolution and completeness, making it the sound of celebrations or anthems. 🏆 At its core lies the I - IV - V - I progression, a timeless sequence that defines Western music. These three chords contain all seven notes of the Ionian mode, weaving a harmonic tapestry that feels like "home." What makes Ionian magical is its versatility: - The IV chord adds warmth (try substituting with ii for a gentler flow). - The V7 chord creates tension, "demanding" resolution back to I. - The vi chord (relative minor) offers a subtle emotional pivot

imo everything opens up once you learn the major scale, and figure out what it means and how to use it
