Ignoring the Can’t
You’re not weak. You’ve just been listening to the wrong voice. Stroke. Ataxia. Addiction .Anorexia.Over 40.Those were my “impossibles”. Starting from nothing—learning to stand, to move, to live again. No applause. No shortcuts. Just decision after decision not to quit. Now, five years later, I have competed in strength sports alongside amputees, cancer survivors, teenagers, women in their 80s, thrivers of every genre. That’s how strength is built. Not in comfort. In resistance. So stop telling yourself it’s too late or you’re too broken. You’re not. You’re untested—and everything in you is still there. So REALLY get honest with yourself. Do you truly believe that you “can’t “?

Ignoring the Can’t
Challenges and Growth
Challenge and discomfort, when faced instead of avoided, become the proving ground for growth. At 45, after a massive stroke at 23. After ataxia tried to dictate what was possible. After every voice—internal and external—that said can’t, no, be realistic. Ignoring those voices isn’t optional. It’s everything. Because they didn’t live it.They didn’t rebuild it.They didn’t earn a say in what comes next. There was a time when even the smallest movements carried weight most people will never understand. Progress wasn’t loud. It wasn’t celebrated. It was built in quiet, relentless moments that forged something deeper than strength. Now the challenge has changed. Stepping into a standard built for Army Rangers. Push-ups that demand discipline, endurance, and strength at a level most will never attempt—let alone after everything already overcome. But that’s exactly the point. Growth doesn’t come from staying where survival was proven. It comes from choosing something that demands more. Every rep becomes a statement:That strength is not limited by age. That the past does not define the ceiling. That discomfort is not a warning—it’s an invitation. Most people will never push themselves into this kind of fire. That’s why you do. Because the same force that carried you through everything before is still here. Stronger now.Sharper now.Unquestionable now. And the truth becomes undeniable: Ignore the “can’t.”It was never yours to carry

@Matthew Hill I was actually about to call you! So much of these things sound theoretical without visual representation 😂 Impossible Performance actually shows visual results! And really, actually seeing and hearing and knowing the women there made everything real! The videos don’t want to post for me 😂. Definitely! Reach one goal: get comfortable with being uncomfortable and challenge yourself to reach a bigger one that appears more impossible!!NOT impossible đŸ”„đŸ’Șâ€ïžâ€đŸ”„

Remembering the why
The first time I saw this scene from Wonder Woman. I couldn’t walk or stand. It was mesmerizing then and remains so. It seems odd to say that watching a scene from Wonder Woman could cause a person to sob with happiness, but here we are đŸ’Șâ€ïžâ€đŸ”„https://youtu.be/ujkhtNNiI3Y?si=hcCcJZi-3Rk0TTbk
