Building a voice agent for dental clinics: what would you do differently?
Hey everyone, I'm planning a voice AI agent for dental clinics that handles missed calls, FAQs (insurance, parking), and appointment requests. Before I build, I'd love real-world input from anyone who has deployed one in dental or medical settings: Discovery: What "make-or-break" questions do you ask practice managers? (I'm covering missed call ROI, emergency definitions, and scheduling rules.) Telecom: Are you using call forwarding or custom SIP trunks with systems like Weave or Mango Voice for clean live transfers? PMS sync: Are you integrating directly with Dentrix, Open Dental, or Eaglesoft (or using NexHealth), or sending bookings to a "pending" queue for staff approval? Also, any thoughts on Vapi vs. Retell vs. Bland for latency and HIPAA? Thanks in advance for any tips or war stories! 🙏

@Zubair Aqeel Thanks, Zubair. One thing I’m still trying to figure out is the privacy side when using n8n in the backend. If patient information is passing through n8n for things like appointment handling what’s the usual approach you take to keep the setup compliant and secure?

@Zubair Aqeel one more thing I’m trying to clarify before I start outreach. I’m based in Pakistan and planning to manually cold call U.S. dental clinics using a U.S. Twilio number. I’d be personally making the calls to the clinic’s business number, not using an AI or automated dialer. From your experience, is this generally okay from a telecom/compliance perspective? And are there any specific things I should watch out for when calling Texas dental practices? Would appreciate your take on how you normally handle this.
