Clue 2 done! … but…
So clue 2 is officially done and I’m loving it! But, I noticed that my tension was quite off with some of the longer floating sections of color work, so it’s kinda a mess. I’m so torn. Do I continue and hope blocking fixes it, or do I frog and restart, maybe going up a needle size in the section in question. I don’t have a lot of time off work, so it would put me way behind to restart now, but also it might be the best to do it now before I get too far into it and realize I hate it. It’s still very close to gauge, but it does noticeably scrunch in in that section, even though there are increases…. Idk. I’ll probably just frog it and cut my losses now and hurry to catch back up. Also, does anyone else keep a knitting journal? I love it as I don’t have a printer and I like a physical copy of color work charts as I like being able to cover up the chart I haven’t gotten to yet and I like having just what I’m working on written down without any other size details or extras as it slows me down in my workflow

@Leslie Burgess I wish I could but I don’t have a steamer. I’d have to fully wash and block and that would take days in my cold wet climate right now
Clue 2 done. NOT really
I thought i was done and while knitting last rows i was wandering why is different look that others. Now i know. Of to ripping 🫣

Oooh! I love your color choices! I’m doing something similar, just minus the pink and inverse the c and a colors, but you got me thinking that’s so much better, at least in this beginning stages that now I’m rethinking my color choices
Clue one complete!
Had a bit of trouble figuring out the Japanese short rows, but after 3 frogs I think I got it! Hopefully as the sweater continues to work itself out it stops this intense curling. Is this something that I should be addressing now before I get too far into the sweater?

@Lauren Atwood I actually had a sweaters quantity of these colors in my stash as I accidentally bought the wrong weight yarn for a different pattern. So these are my only colors for this sweater

Hi everyone! I'm going to participate but have never done a mystery knit along lol I'm not sure the steps I need to take to participate. Do I download the pattern and the clues are just additional parts of the pattern that get released each week? I downloaded this and I have the pattern in my cart on Ravelry.

Right now, I would purchase the pattern so you can get the discount that still applies for getting it early. You have until the 25th so you can wait for a bit, but save the money while you can right? Right now we are just in the gathering yarn stage and making our gauge swatches to make sure we’re on track to start knitting when the first clue drops! A mystery knit along breaks the pattern into steps so each reveal is a surprise! Zanete also has a YouTube video also talking about first steps that you can watch too on her channel
Yarn choice help
So, I bought this yarn with a different pattern in mind, but I accidentally bought the wrong weight yarn and could not get it to work up in the gauge I needed. So I was so grateful for this knit along as it used worsted weight yarn and I can finally use this lovely yarn! My problem is though I have enough of the grain color for colors an and d, but only enough of the variegated yarn for color c, with 65 yards left over. Also, as I (mostly) buy my yarn with a project in mind, I have very little stash that’s not dedicated to something and definitely not enough for all that’s needed in color b, so I will have go purchase more yarn. So now my dilemma. The skeins of yarn I get are in 210 yards skeins, color b calls for 270 yards. In the interest of using as much yarn from my stash as possible, can I get away with using the same color as c? If I buy a new skein in that color, with the yardage I have left over from c I would have 265 yards. Which would leave me playing yarn chicken with 5 yards left over, but I (fingers crossed) would have enough leftovers in my stash to get me that 5 yards. (Or depending on how the pattern turns out I could also just improvise with the color work) Would having the same color b as c even work with this pattern? Or do I have to buy 2 whole new skeins for b? My other options are so slim and I would have to borrow from other projects to get the 5 yards anyway…. Help.(Second photo is possible options for remaining 5 yards compared to the color way picked for c. The top two is fingering weight so I would have to hold them together and gauge would be tricky on the bottom is another worsted weight yarn but color would be way off. I mean the colors would be way off for the top one too, but here’s to hoping the blue saves the day?)

@Zanete Hussain Yes! Thank you 😊

Actually, that makes it even more perfect as I would have had 440 yards left over from the A/D color! So no yarn chicken or more yarn needed!

Hi everyone! I would say I’m a very advanced crocheter, who just is dipping their toes back into knitting since learning in childhood!
