Love this, Davis. It’s always great to see fellow nurses branching into career support roles and helping others show up with confidence in the job market. You’re absolutely right, navigating applications, resumes, and LinkedIn can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re already juggling the demands of nursing or transitioning into a new role. I really appreciate the value you’re offering to the community. Clear, empowering guidance can make such a difference for someone who’s trying to take that next step in their career. Thanks for showing up and contributing in such a meaningful way.

Beautifully said. Nursing school truly is a hero’s journey full of challenges that shape you, moments that humble you, and breakthroughs that remind you exactly why you started. Every setback becomes part of the story that makes you stronger, wiser, and more capable of serving others with compassion and resilience. To anyone in the thick of it right now: your struggle has meaning. You’re building a foundation that will carry you through the rest of your career, and one day your story will be the encouragement someone else desperately needs. Keep going. And if you ever need support in presenting your skills, strengths, and accomplishments as you grow in your nursing journey, don’t hesitate to reach out. As someone who focuses on career branding in healthcare, I’m always happy to help you show up confidently and clearly in your professional path.
A quick tip for protecting skin in incontinent patients 👇🏾
Back when I was working as a CNA, one of the biggest lessons I learned (and still use as a wound care physician today) was this: Don’t wait for the redness to show up. Apply barrier cream before the skin breaks down. Especially with patients who have frequent loose stools or limited mobility, prevention saves a lot of pain later. I’m curious - if you were on clinicals and had a patient with incontinence, what would be your first step to protect their skin?

This is such a great reminder. Prevention really is everything, and it’s something you only appreciate more as you move through different roles. If I were on clinicals with an incontinent patient, my first step would be a thorough skin assessment, really looking for any early signs of moisture-associated skin damage. From there, I’d focus on getting them clean, dry, and comfortable, and then applying a protective barrier right away. I’ve found that being proactive with skincare, combined with repositioning and reducing moisture exposure, makes a huge difference in keeping patients safe and preventing complications before they start. Thanks for sharing this, love seeing how lessons from early roles carry forward into advanced practice.
