Who’s your favourite artist?
Post under this post. Who it wish and why you like it! I’ll start us off… Dimitra Milan Dunn- a young American artist that works in mixed media and oil paint. I like the layers, the collage and the way she paints brushstrokes on flowers. somethings look a little unfinished for me, but it’s a very soft inviting style.

I'm quite eclectic I love chuck pinson, Dominic Davison to Margaret morales! I find all of the landscape art inviting almost like you could step right into the picture and feel at home. I love the soft pastel colour of Margaret morales work I'm always amazed what she can do with watercolour paint especially when I know how hard it is!!!

Breathe!
I was feeling over worked and pressured at work last week. So I’ve transformed an old painting this weekend. I’ve tried to keep the word breathe in my mind. Lots of drips and expressive marks and I’m happy with this wip! It helped me to take a moment for myself. What self care did you do this weekend?

I've been feeling super overwhelmed and stressed for the past few weeks now so I took time away from my phone and social media which I felt were having a negative impact on my state of mind. I decided to use all of that spare time I gained to learn oil painting or the start of at least!! I really enjoy oils so much more than acrylics for sure and I created a seascape Painting that I was quite happy with. I'm always super critical of my own work as you know but hubby reckons it's my best one yet! So what I have learnt is to take time away just for myself to settle my brain and I will continue to do so it's worked wonders!!!

Paint and tool recommendations
I'm after your supplies must haves/brands etc! I've been having a mare lately and my fear of wasting expensive acrylic paint (liquidtex heavy body professional) is real 🙈 I really wanna be able to just let myself have failures without thinking well that was a waste haha. Anyway what acrylic brands do you guys use? Brushes you love etc?

@Katie Jarman I think I just get frustrated that some days I can totally paint and others it looks like I've never even picked up a brush before 🤷🏼♀️ maybe the perfectionist in me!

Sun-kissed ocean
Haven't had time lately for drawing or painting, but I was feeling down last night and decided to do something little. It's a 5"x7 ". Didn't take long and I feel better! AND... Without a tutorial! Constructive feedback welcome.

I love it 😍 the sunlight and reflection are so calming!!! Your clouds are also really good something I've yet to master!! Lately I've struggled with anything creative, it just seems a mess so I might go back to my happy place which is landscapes 🤗

Is anyone up for a speed painting challenge??
I have done a couple of new cupcakes and recorded the process. Just for me really. And just for fun! But I think there is a lesson to be learned in each. I could voice over the video if anyone’s interested.

I'm interested! My start process is at speed and then I take days adding details 🙈 not really the point of blooming speed painting I know!
