Skool is a Game of "Who's who?"—Here's How to Play
We all know that game, "Who's who?", right ? For those who don't, I included a picture. I know it's a weird hook, but read until the end ^_^ In this game, there are 24 characters, each with their own unique traits. Some have glasses, others a hat. Some have bright red hair or a big smile. Every character has something that makes them...them. The goal is simple: the players are asking questions to narrow it down until just one card is left standing. Now, enters Skool. The members you’re trying to attract are the ones asking the questions. They start with all the board (a.k.a. the discovery page), and they flip cards down, eliminating options as they go. - “Does this community solve my problem?” Flip. - “Do they really understand what I’m going through?” Flip. - “Do they stand out in a way that speaks to me?” Flip. - and so on. Until only one card is standing. The community they'll join and dive into. And here is the beauty of this game: there's no loser! Standing out doesn’t mean you have to be loud, flashy, or better than everyone else. It’s about highlighting your unique traits (the characteristics, stories, and experiences that make you different, just like each character in the game.) Maybe you’ve been through what your members are going through right now. Maybe you're really good at explaining things in a way that just clicks. Maybe you’ve got an unconventional approach that no one else is offering. Whatever it is, you have something to share. Something that makes your “card” just as worthy as anyone else’s. We all belong on the board. In “Who’s Who?”, every card starts with an equal shot. Each character has their own physical characteristics that make them worthy of consideration. Same here. It’s not about being better or worse—it’s about showing your skills clearly so the right member flips everyone else down and says, “This is the one.” We're all valuable. We all have something to offer. The key is figuring out what makes you stand out, owning it, and presenting it clearly to your members.

Wow, what a powerful metaphor! I absolutely love this analogy! It’s such a beautiful reminder that we don’t have to try to be everything for everyone—just the right card for our people. In my case, my “card” is all about creating a space that’s real, welcoming, and focused on growth. I’m not here to be the loudest or flashiest card on the board, but to connect with those who want to build something meaningful, organically, and authentically. My “glasses” are my experience—going from struggling on welfare to financial freedom, and knowing firsthand what it feels like to wonder, “Can I really do this?” My “hat” is my passion for teaching people not just how to succeed, but how to do it in a way that creates long-term, sustainable results. And my “big smile”? That’s the joy I find in celebrating every win, big or small, with my community. We all have something unique to bring to the table, and I love the way this highlights the importance of embracing and showcasing those unique traits. It’s not about being “better,” but about being you. So, here’s my question to you @Sylvain Zyssman: What’s your “card”? What makes you the one they’ll keep flipping for? Because there’s someone out there looking for exactly what you have to offer. 💛
