I am most likely 10-12 years away from retiring and building a permanent home. I want earthen materials but my wife and I don’t want a tiny home limited severely by the labor it takes to use earthen materials. My question is what are the best options for building something larger, ie 1600 square feet? I know there are lots of considerations but I am leaning towards straw bale or compressed blocks but I am interested in your thoughts on this? I am also curious if there are any options for paying for labor or contractor’s who do this type of building?
