What do you think an appropriate time to wear a fragrance is? Definitely not at Mass because you don’t want to stand out

Hi all, What would your suggestion be for a hat that I can use on a regular basis? I have a flat cap that I wear on a semi-regular basis and I’m wondering, what would be a hat that I could use for more formal events like cocktail parties and going to church where the dress code is more formal?
