Interview Day
All set for my first interview in about 7 years. I don’t put on this suit very often, but it is the first suit I actually had tailored instead of just letting what I bought off the shelf be “good enough.” I went with the burgundy tie and added my Knights of St. John tie bar I bought in Malta a few years ago to add a little of flair.

@Michael McDonnell I actually thought about that when I put my jacket on. I will have to purchase one before I need to put it on again.

Thanks for all the best wishes. Interview went okay, but I am very critical of myself.
Dress shirts drive me nuts
I’m the bigger guy and I accept that. My problem is is I have a 20 inch neck but my body fits into 18 size shirts, but I can never close the shirt because my neck is so big when I get the size neck that I need it looks like I’m getting into a tent the only thing that I can think of was going custom, but I really don’t like spending $150-$200 per shirt. Does anybody have any advice?

I have the same problem. I have just accepted that I will be spending the extra money to get it tailored. It isn’t very expensive and sure beats having to wear some kind of shirt stay and folding the excess material so you don’t look disheveled.
Boot Restoration
Trying my hand at a restoration. These aren’t fine boots. These are steel toe work boots. Nonetheless, they were in rough shape. For my first boot restoration, I’m pleased. These aren’t fine only new laces I had in my kit are a bit short. I’ll order some proper length laces, then I’ll really be done.

Nice job.
It’s still rock and roll to me.
This morning, while I was getting dressed, I put on a horizontal seersucker tie that I have had since probably the mid 90s. I bought it at a mall store that my sister worked at the time called County Seat. I love this tie. It is very durable and has not started to wear from being knotted over and over. So I keep wearing it. This morning while putting it on question, “is this too wide?” Then, that got the Billy Joel lyrics in my head. “What’s the matter with the clothes I’m wearing, can’t you tell that your tie’s too wide“ So I get that song stuck in my head. I’m singing it to my wife while we’re eating breakfast. I’m singing it as I get in the car. On the way to school. It’s still in my head. I get into my classroom and sit down to my computer and turn on Pandora 80s station and what is the first song that pops up… ???? Craziness right? But anyway, give me your thoughts, is my tie too wide?
It’s still rock and roll to me.

Just don’t drive around with white wall tires and I think you will be good.

They all are good choices but clothes that fit properly has become a #1 for me. Coming to the realization it doesn’t cost much to get clothes tailored, and I don’t have to look like a slob has brought a lot of confidence.

@Darren Poesel from my own experience I think it’s about saving money with buying off the rack and thinking just because I can put it on, and button it up it is good to go. One of the first things I started doing was getting clothes tailored to me after I bought them. Another thing is keeping clothes too long after your body has changed, for better or worse, instead of buying new clothes to fit the way you are now.

I am a police officer just trying to be creative with my photography to decompress from everything I see on the job.
