Genuinely important Business Amplifier question. Please read and respond.
I've been planning the future of the Business Amplifier, and I think I have the opportunity to offer something much more significant than we are with the current setup. There's a lot going on in the background here, but I am considering the idea of having tiered membership. I'll keep the costs as reasonable as I can, but it could be a good way to give Business Amplifier members access to some of the facilities and research tools that our retained clients have. I'm also considering a higher tier that includes a set amount one-to-one consultation time each month, and probably some ‘group therapy’ type sessions with visiting experts. The free tier, as it is currently set up, will always be here. My question is, would this be of interest to you? Please be honest; that would be very helpful, thank you.

@Sam Parnell yeah, I think that's key. The value proposition needs some tweaking.
How much of your personality is your USP?
I had a brilliant session yesterday with the always-interesting @Rachel Allen. We were discussing how much emotion – or how much of ourselves – should be included in our Unique Selling Propositions. The theory is that a lot of USPs tend to be quite cold and unemotional. But ultimately, people work with people. If you are a freelancer, a solopreneur, or the person in your company who deals with prospects most often, then yes: you probably should include it. Your personality is a part of your USP. The real challenge is: how on earth do you express that? After a very entertaining session with Rachael, I decided my USP is that I am a Professional Attention Seeker. If you rolled your personality into your selling point, could you define it in just three or four words? P.S. If you aren’t sure what your USP is and want to get some clarity, we have a session for that. Just send me a direct message and I’ll explain how it works.

I wrote a short LinkedIn article on this topic today. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/andrewlaws_how-much-of-your-true-self-do-you-really-activity-7404082373920989185-Fhl8

@Paul Wilkinson I love how clear your positioning is.
Do you still work when you're ill?
I spent the last couple of days tucked up in bed with something dramatic feeling, but probably fine. Just our curiosity - if you run a business, do you: 1. Power down completely 2. Push on through 3. Just lightly keep in touch

@Paul Wilkinson although I work in a room by myself, there are other people in the building, and that has been something I take into account.
Gmail can now schedule meetings for you
We've all become familiar with tools like Calendly for booking meetings, but they've always made me uneasy. They tend to throw your calendar wide open. A few months ago, I found myself in a situation where, even though I was trying to manage my availability, I ended up doing 35 meetings a week. That's just not sustainable. In Gmail, the Gemini feature now helps you schedule emails in a way that gives you much more control. I think this is a great example of AI being genuinely useful. When all the noise about futuristic, high-concept AI settles down, it's tools like this that will prove g genuinely beneficial. Have you tried this yet, or are you sticking with other ways of booking meetings? Find out more

@Sam Parnell I've more or less abandoned using any kind of booking link. They take forever, and even if I try and protect all my time, they will just gobble it all up. I'd rather just pick up the phone and get it done in a few seconds.

Just as a quick update on this, I've been testing out Google, and it's very clever, but so far, the people I'm emailing aren't interacting with the emails in a way I expected. They just reply manually to let me know what they can or can't make, so partial win so far. Google.
Do you post technical gubbins on LinkedIn? If so why?
This morning, I wrote an article imploring people to stop talking about technical aspects of their work on LinkedIn. Click here to read it... Unless you are answering technical questions that somebody has asked you, I genuinely think posting content on LinkedIn that includes jargon or acronyms is more likely to put people off than encourage them to work with you. However, this is only an opinion. What are your thoughts? Please let me know in the comments.
