@Harper Dunaway — for me, staying grounded and keeping a bigger perspective have been huge for preventing burnout. After reading that sentence, I realize it sounds pretty vague and cliché 😛. I see staying grounded as taking care of my own body, mind, and spirit first, outside of work. For me that means getting regular exercise, keeping tabs on what I'm putting into my body, and regular meditation/contemplation/prayer. All of that helps with the second thing too — keeping a bigger perspective. When I'm feeling like my ministry area depends completely on me, I feel off-balance, more stressed, and get stuck in urgent/immediate zone and can't see the bigger picture. That's when I've found to start focusing on what I can do to make sure I'm replaceable in what I do. Not because I want to leave, or because what I do isn't important, but because realizing that makes me feel less stressed and burned out. It also helps to see the bigger picture of what the church is doing in the world.

Cool, looking good! I didn't get a photo at our rehearsal last night, but will try to grab one on Sunday.
3rd Thursdays!
When we launched this, I wanted there to be some chances for us to meet and chat without any kind of agenda. Maybe do q&a, support stuff, or just chat about life. Well, the first of those on the schedule is this Thursday! Like or comment on this post if you’re game to hang at 1pm on here. Hope to see you there!

Love it! I'm hanging with family all afternoon after worship and taking Monday off. Then, to get out of "task" world and get more creative, we've got 2 songwriting sessions planned for our team the following week, with no rules or deadlines for what is produced in the process. I did a lot of writing years ago, but haven't exercised those muscles in a while. This'll be a new endeavor for us as a group.
