Hi, I'm new here
I'm a digital Artist, but I do some traditional mediums here and there. Here is a painting that I finished earlier this week.

@Patrick McSherry Thank you! Yeah gouache has such a virbernt color, looks better In person too.
Seascape from my mind
This seascape doesn’t exist in any geographical location in the world. I composed it from several different references. It is oil on a 20 x 16 portrait grade stretched canvas. Recommendations for improvement are always welcome.

You're clouds could use some work, maybe make the value shift within them a little more subtle. And the cloud on the left leave some blue sky to the left of, it makes if feel cramped. I think the composition would be better if the cloud on the left went to the edge of the canvas. The water and rocks look really good.

@Chuck Taylor I don't know what mean by bright edge, are you talking about the cloud?
Hello, Community!
I'm new to the group. I've been drawing and painting all my life but I'm recently retired and have some time on my hands... So, I've plunged back into painting. I started with watercolors, but I was only successful maybe one out of ten attempts. Ugh. Then I dug out my acrylics kit and found myself enjoying the process again. Here's my latest painting- a great blue heron in the early evening (8x10 on canvas panel). I look forward to meeting you all and continuing the journey. Cheers!

Hi
One of my first paintings
Here are a couple of my very first paintings I did , this goes back to 1987😮, can’t believe it’s been that long ago. I painted for about 25 years and then took a 15 year break and now I’m trying to get back into it .

You have been painting long then I have been alive. These look really good. How did you learn back then before YouTube?
My first ever seascape
I have literally just started painting. I was really struggling so I followed one of Sam’s wave videos and copied his colour mixing and theory and I managed to do this! Just acrylic on paper but would love to try oils. It’s amazing how learning a bit of theory can help so much!
