Brisbane Clown Festival

@Adam Gertsacov Full steam ahead. Ticket sales are slow but we have three weeks. The big thing I have discovered is that general public here have a limited view of what clown is. That's part of my mission, to broaden the understanding.

Hi Adam. Yes it was a great article. I realised many non theatre people here still don't really understand clown. So my mission is to educate. The festival opens tomorrow (Fri). FIRST COFFEE/CLOWN COMEDY HOUR TOMORROW!
We are going to have our first clown/comedy hangout tomorrow. Check the calendar tab for the time. At the appropriate moment, click the call/video button. It works a lot like zoom, but it's run by Skool. Show up, say hello, bring comedy questions! Let's meet and greet, sip and swig, and chat chat chat! Look forward to meeting you guys tomorrow!

Clown and Burlesque
I run a regular clown cabaret (Brisbane Clown Cabaret) and I regularly program a burlesque performer to do a variety act. Next year I will be teaching clown in a Burlesque school. I am interested if anyone can recommend a online video of burlesque artists who incorporate clown. Andrew

making an act
Hi everyone. I am interested in how clowns devise. It's great to have a community to discuss this. I loosely use a framework of 'stupidity, chaos and fantasy' as drivers of comedy. Having a language to curate choices make the choices clear and specific. Stupidity is doing something the wrong way, Chaos is chaotically engaging with prop, costume or set, and Fantasy is how the clown's inner imagined world overtakes the mundane 'normal' world. Anyhow, keen to hear the frameworks y'all use to develop an act.
