Went to do an Add key to a 2017 BMW X3 yesterday. I had what I thought was the correct aftermarket key. All went well with my Autel IM508 right up to it telling me the key was the wrong frequency. I had a 433mhz from 3d Group and it actually needed an 868mhz. Correct key ordered from Autowave now, I will return later in the week.

Hi all, I’m Andy, based in the Bristol / South Gloucestershire area, and I run Keycontrol Auto Locksmiths. My background is a mixture of practical vehicle work and technical fault-finding. I was a mechanic for many years, so I’m comfortable around vehicles, tools, diagnostics and the mechanical side of the job. More recently I’ve worked in IT infrastructure, which has given me a methodical approach to problem-solving and technical systems. I’m already carrying out auto locksmith work, including vehicle entry, key work, diagnostics and programming, and I’m continuing to build my knowledge and experience across different makes and systems. Hi, Has anyone used the Autel Maxi IM508? Are they as good as or nearly as good as the programmers mentioned in the videos? Thanks a lot
