Adding this here as I heard them from a guy on IG before I dropped off of it and adopted them, with one major modification seen in number one, as a means to goal myself and my intentions towards the Man God put me here to be. Or, rather, to align myself in a way that our Lord who does the actual work receives less pushback from my daily practices. A “Good man” does the following: He prays to his maker - He seeks his Father's council, inviting Him into all he says and does and then he follows through with it regardless of fear and doubt. Governs himself - Moods - Reactions - Impulses Builds Reliability - Does what he says he’s going to do Even when it’s difficult and/or inconvenient; Consistently finishes what he started Removes dependencies - He doesn’t numb himself - He sits with his discomfort without escaping it or hiding from it in busy-ness nor substance He strengthens his body - For capacity and resilience, not for looks He tells the truth - No sulking, no passive aggression, no dramatic honesty dumps - He talks less, says what he means, means what he says, and stands by it without needing applause He doesn’t outsource his worth - He respects himself by earning his own respect with maturity and integrity
