$169,684 in 2 months...and it's over
We knew this moment was coming....and this weekend we received the dreaded message from Apple. Here's the recap of our wild ride with @Evrim Demir: - Two months ago we saw the trend of dating advice apps - Built an MVP in 6h and launched v1 on the same day - Immediate tractionL: started making $1k / day - Our competitor was taken down from the app store for a few days and we were making $6k / day - Then top 2 competitors were taken down and we were making $10k+ / day - Apple started to systematically shut down the whole category. Every app went down, one by one - And finally, this weekend we received the message "Your app was removed from the App Store" What's next? The app was pulled due to copyright infringement in our metadata. This means we're still getting the revenue, but the app is no longer available for download. Technically speaking, this is a 5min fix. We can just change the title and we're back online. However, Apple is clearly shutting down all apps and for different reasons. If we get shut down again, we risk having our entire account terminated. Right now, we get the $169k paid out. If our account gets terminated, we won't get any money. Our entire account with the whole portfolio of apps gets shut down. We're still deciding what to do, but most likely we will play it safe and not do anything. We will focus on other apps & other portfolios and simply let Apple pay us out the $169k over the next two months. It's time to get back to work and continue building cool stuff. This has been one of the most fun experiences I've every had in my 10 years on the app store. Definitely the most money I made for the least amount of effort. We spent 6 hours making the MVP which ended up generating $169,684 in 2 months. Life is Good!

Congrats Darius, such an inspiring journey!
Spotted a new keyword, take it!
Hey guys, I spotted a new trend on TikTok going viral that made this app skyrocket in the last few days. It's about singing / lyrics. The app is nothing special and doing about $10k / day in profit. Just throwing it out there if anyone wants to go compete with them. You might be able to use the keyword "dynamic lyrics" in your title, but be cautious because Apple might consider a copy-cat move so do this at your own risk. As all TikTok trends, this is temporary so it'll go down but might be a fun project to throw something up quickly and see what happens.

I looked into it and did some additional research — I think Dynamic Lyrics is not operating legally, so I’ll skip it. The app connects to Spotify or Apple Music and displays customizable lyrics across different views and widgets. The problem is that neither service exposes lyrics through their public APIs (just metadata), and from my ChatGPT research it seems unlikely they are doing this in a licensed way. ChatGPT: “The evaluation is that, while the concept has strong user appeal, the business model is fundamentally fragile. Proper global licensing deals for synced lyrics typically cost in the range of $100,000–$250,000 per year or more, which makes it impossible to sustain at a pricing model like $7 lifetime or $1/month. This strongly suggests the developers are not licensed and are instead obtaining lyrics through scraping or reverse-engineering hidden feeds — approaches that are not legal and leave the app exposed to takedowns, legal claims, and potential platform bans.”
New app: $48,708 in 4 weeks. No ads
Hey guys, I apologise for being a little absent in the last 2-3 weeks. I want to share our latest app launch which generated $48,708 of revenue in one month (and still counting), using the Trending Keywords Method. I will record a proper case study video exclusively for this community, but I wanted to share the results with you already now. Here is the story: - In mid-August we recorded a podcast with @M O where we talked about the Tea Dating Advice app which has gone viral and was #1 on the App Store for several weeks. I was blown away. - With @Evrim Demir we noticed an opportunity in the market for a competing app and we build the fastest MVP that we have ever done. It took us just 6 hours to make the app and submit to Apple for review. When I say "us" I mean mostly Evrim 😅 I didn't even do the design as I usually do, we used Cursor to help us out. I spent most of my time on making the App Store screenshots lol. - We submitted the app on the 25th of August and thanks to the Trending Keywords Method (see our Classroom section) we immediately started to make about $1k - $1.5k / day. - This was a great start for an app with no ads or no marketing. Then a few weeks later, our biggest competitor was taken down by Apple and we suddenly started to make $6k / day in profit. Awesome. - This lasted for a few days, then the competition app returned to the App Store and now we're back to make about $1k - $1.5k / day. - I don't know how long this trend will continue, but even if we stay like this without further growth, the app will continue making at least $30k / month. We are two co-founders so that's $15k / month per person from 6 hours of work 🚀 on one product. This doesn't include the rest of our portfolio. - App asset valuation is about 3 - 4x annual EBITDA. It could be argued that this app would be valued at around $1M right now. That's $1M from 6h of work (and 10 years of experience 😅) - Our MVP was functional but definitely didn't include full feature scope or award-winning design. This really showed me that demand & distribution is so much more important than features and design. If you catch a big wave, all you need is a simple MVP that has one core feature and is "good enough". Not perfect.

Congrats @Darius Mora, that's really amazing!!! I'll start using the Trending Keyword Method for my next app. I joined here while I was still working on my previous app, but it’s not really going anywhere. Time to change strategy 🙂
Live call is canceled today
Hey guys, I apologize but I've been sick and have to cancel our live call today. I'm recovering and hope to be back to full power by next week so we can hunt the trending keywords together 🦾

Get well soon!
Finally
After weeks of relentless effort, countless trials, and starting with zero coding knowledge, I have successfully built my first iOS app using Xcode and SwiftUI—guided step by step with ChatGPT. Today marks a proud milestone: my very first app submission to App Store Connect. This journey has proven to me that with the right tools, persistence, and determination, anyone can transform an idea into a real product. I hope my story inspires others in this community to take the leap and create something of their own.
