This post by Gary V really cemented something I have been thinking about this morning. Eugene has been in my head since Monday, way more than Doc Rassie has ever been. The impact of mindset and thoughts are astounding. There is one thought in particular that a lot of us seem to struggle with, and it is the opposite of being ahead. In our mind, we compare ourselves to others in the community and to where we think we are supposed to be compared to how long we have in the program. At the same time, we ignore a much bigger picture… how many millions of people in South Africa and how many billions of people across the world have never tried doing something concrete to charge their situations and lives? If you are in this community, you are light years ahead of billions of others. You have done more than billions of others. Why worry about the handful of people that appear to be ahead of you? And in the times it feels really tough and overwhelming, think about the fact that you are one of a hand full of people who had the guts to take up this opportunity… you are way ahead of the majority. You are not a spectator, you entered the arena, you are in the game whilst your critics aren’t even on the bench, they are sitting comfy among the masses. YOU ARE AHEAD, just keep going

Just stick to it and do a little bit every day consistently
