Every year I quit drinking alcohol for 6 months. Usually during low season here in Thailand when my friends go home and it's quiet. I'm not a massive drinker. Maybe once a week to socialise. And only beers. But here's what's mad... Every time I quit, my focus goes from like 3-4 hours to 8-10 hours of solid work. Energy is stable all day. No more afternoon crashes. This made me realise... We're always looking for the "secret" to productivity. Better apps. Better systems. Better routines. But we ignore the elephant in the room: The dumb shit we do to ourselves. For me it was alcohol and coffee. (Quitting coffee was honestly harder than quitting smoking) But once you get past the withdrawal... The energy stability is insane. No more highs and crashes. Just consistent focus all day. Look, I'm not saying you need to become a monk. But if you're struggling with low energy, anxiety, can't focus or not making any progress. Maybe look at what you're putting in your body first. Is there something you could do with quitting?
