EQ dilemma
I'm watching the course "How to Mix like a Pro" where Dane does some moves in EQ demos that he says are making the track sound better but I cannot hear the difference at all. I can make out large changes in EQ but I am struggling to understand those subtle differences. Although, I have to say I am a novice and am sure my ears are not good enough yet, I want to learn to hear those differences better. Can anyone suggest me a few things/tips to improve my learning? Would be much obliged. Danke!

@Forever Simon Thanks a ton! I’m currently using the app from Mastering the Mix called EQ academy for ear training.

@Tom Baldwin Thank you so much, Tom. Reading your comment was so insightful and educational. This really made sense to me and I feel the tips you have given have elevated my listening skills just by reading your comment. You help me direct it to the right path. I feel motivated and full of energy. Thanks a ton again!
Learning but not understanding :(
I am learning EQ and I feel I have understood the concept through dozen of videos and resources but I don't know what exactly my mixes require or rather what I need to EQ in my mix. I am unsure if I am doing the right thing here. Is there any resource to fasten my ear training? plz halph

@Sam King Appreciate it! It's like I am trying to walk along a dark alley without a torch. I realised that I am not being able to hear what I need to EQ precisely. I mean I know this is the road I'm supposed to go down but dunno what's exactly on the road like a big box blocking my way or a small ledge I need to step on carefully. Aaahhh 😅, thanks anyway.

@Peter Johnson Thank you! Actually I'm watching the course Mix like a Pro and Dane does some moves in EQ demos that he says are making the track sound better but I cannot hear the difference at all.

Hi, I'm Amullya from a small mountain town in the Himalayas called Darjeeling. I love making music cause it is just the best thing ever. I've been making music for long time but have never been the "guy behind the chair" so to speak. After spending much money and time on mixing and mastering, I realised engineers (at least those around my vicinity) aren't able to translate my music precisely in the way I had envisioned. So, rather than spending money there I wanted to invest in myself and learn those skills on my own. I am basically a beginner at this but I hope to be a complete artist and engineer soon. I'm also a songwriter and hope to help people in that regard. Thank you. :)
New music
If you have new music you want to share to get some exposure, post it below! If you want feedback or have a specific conversation about the song, you can do a dedicated post. But if you just want to share something you've release to help get streams, post it below (and make sure you stream other peoples music too!)

@Terry John Armanini Appreciate it! I am a noob when it comes to this. I am an artist with beginner level skills at mixing and mastering. I can't afford a good engineer right now so I want to be able to do it all by myself. I figured it would be a skill that would come in handy even if I would be able to work with the right people in the future. Thanks a lot Terry.
