Hello everyone, I’m Amanda, a retired midwife, educator, and now the founder of Knitting Creative.com, where I use knitting and crochet as powerful wellbeing tools. I teach in-person classes, online programmes and corporate wellbeing sessions designed to reduce stress, improve sleep, support emotional regulation and even lower long-term health risks. The evidence for yarn-based therapeutic practice is growing rapidly, and I’m passionate about bringing this work into mainstream wellbeing and workplace culture. In January, I’ll be launching a series of high-end and luxury programmes that blend creativity, calm and personal transformation; supporting women to reconnect with themselves through the quiet magic of yarn. I’m also beginning to develop my book, which will bring together research, lived experience and practical approaches to using knitting and crochet for mental and physical wellbeing.
