🌱 From One Vision to a Thousand Strong 🌎
When I first took over Perma Resilience from Bret, I didn’t know exactly where it would go — I just knew the why behind it was too important to fade away. A space built to reconnect people to land, to resilience, and to each other… deserved to keep growing. And now, we’ve reached 1,000 members! A thousand people learning, planting, and building side by side — proof that resilience isn’t just an idea, it’s a living movement. When I think back to those first few months, I remember wondering if anyone would show up to the calls, or share their projects. But you did — in gardens, in backyards, on farms, and in your daily lives. Somewhere along the way, Perma Resilience became alive. To celebrate this milestone, we’re unlocking something special:🎉 The Holistic Homestead Academy — normally a $1,500 course — is now available FREE inside the Classroom tab. It’s our way of giving back to the community that made this possible — to help every one of you take the next step toward food security, energy independence, and true resilience. 💬 Join the celebration below: 1️⃣ What’s most changed for you since joining Perma Resilience? 2️⃣ What are you building, planting, or creating right now that excites you most? Let’s fill this thread with stories that remind us why we’re here — because this isn’t just about surviving what’s coming… it’s about creating something that lasts. To Bret’s original vision, to this growing movement, and to the 1,000 of us walking the path of resilience together.– Stefano 🌿

1. Changing from a monoculture paradigm in my urban garden to a Food Forest! 2. I'm excited about building an ecosystem that not only supports my little garden in the city but also my community and environment around me. Just because we don't have acreage doesn't mean we can't grow our own food, be stewards of the earth, create food stability and sustainability along with community connection. Each year I add more and more to my garden and I've found something I'm really passionate about. Thank you for this free resource! I included some pics of my urban oasis!

Hardiness zones
What hardiness zones are you all growing in? What are some successful plants? Any good companion plant duos that are thriving? ☺️ I am in Zone 7A

I'm in Zone 8B in BC, Canada. Garlic, Kale, Zucchini, and Cucumbers are my best crops so far but I grow many things in my little urban garden in the city. I've had great success with blueberries, broccoli, apples, romaine, green leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, beans, snap peas, butternut squash, raspberries, strawberries, beets, onions, leeks, green onions, red and green cabbage, potatoes, and so much more. I found the best aphid deterrent ever by growing copious amounts of borage beside the plants they love.
