Living Strong Community Introduction: Meet Amanda Antonini
In every community, there are people who carry a passion most of the world never takes the time to understand. Not loud passion. Not performative passion. The quiet kind—built on responsibility, patience, and care. I’d like to introduce you to @Amanda Antonini , founder of Medusa's Reptile. Amanda has been working with reptiles since she was a child. At ten years old, growing up in Port Richmond, Pennsylvania, she brought home her first ball python. What started as curiosity became a calling by the time she was twelve—a clear sense that caring for these animals wasn’t just something she liked… it was part of who she was. Since then, Amanda has walked a path that includes professional animal care, hands-on rescue, rehabilitation, and education. She approaches reptiles the way Living Strong approaches life: with calm, respect, and consistency. She understands what many don’t—reptiles are not objects or novelties. They are intelligent, curious, living beings that respond to how they are treated. One of the things that sets Amanda apart is her willingness to educate without judgment. She meets curiosity where it lives. Whether someone is nervous, unsure, or simply fascinated, Amanda believes questions are the doorway to understanding. Over the coming days, Amanda will be sharing answers with anyone in our community who is curious about snakes and reptiles: - What they’re really like - How to care for them responsibly - What people often get wrong - How to approach them with respect rather than fear She brings real-world experience—from daily care routines to rescue stories that remind us what responsibility truly looks like when an animal depends on you. If you’ve ever been curious about reptiles—or if you’ve only known them through fear or misinformation—this is an invitation to listen, learn, and ask questions. Amanda doesn’t promise to convince you to love reptiles. She simply offers understanding. And sometimes, that’s where Living Strong begins.

Before the Boards Break (VIDEO BELOW)
Tomorrow we’ll be breaking boards at our karate school. Some of you are excited. Some of you are nervous. Some of you are already wondering, “What if I don’t break it?” When I broke 100 boards to raise money for a scholarship fund, it wasn’t about power. It was about preparation, focus, and belief. I trained for months—not just my hands, but my mindset. Here’s what I’ve learned: Boards don’t break because you’re angry. They break because you’re calm. They don’t break because you try harder. They break because you commit. When it’s time to step up, you don’t think about the board. You think about your stance. Your breath. One board. One moment. If it breaks—great. If it doesn’t—you still showed courage by stepping forward. That’s the real win. For those breaking boards tomorrow: trust your training. For those watching: notice what confidence looks like when someone commits. That lesson goes far beyond the mat. If this brings up questions—about martial arts, mindset, board breaking, focus, fear, preparation, or confidence—I invite you to ask them. I’m collecting questions through a simple form and answering them inside the Martial Arts Knowledge Base so everyone can learn from them. 👉 Here's the link to the QUESTION FORM. Living Strong.

Chocolate Chip Banana Oat Treats(Snack/Healthy Breakfast Bites)
Ok, I’m sure this happens to the best of us. We buy bananas and then our lives get busy and all of a sudden they start looking like a giraffe and too mushy to eat by just peeling them. Who else does this happen to? Now, because I try personally to avoid too much bread around the holidays and in general I don’t make the summer go to of banana bread or muffins. I make my Peanut Butter Chip Banana Oat Treats(Chocolate Chip for others posted in pics) Whether or not you eat a ripe or unripe banana is not definitively healthier; the best choice depends on your health goals. Unripe bananas are higher in resistant starch, which is better for blood sugar control and gut health, while ripe bananas are easier to digest, sweeter, and have higher levels of antioxidants. Both are excellent sources of potassium, vitamin B6, and fiber. Personally in the morning it is hard for me to eat a lot so these little treats pack the nutrition I need to start off my day without tasting dry, chemically processed, overly sweet or heavy on my stomach. What You will Need: Tools-Oven Preheated 350F, Bowl,Fork, Tablespoon, 1/2 Teaspoon, 1Teaspoon, Cookie Sheet, Parchment Paper or Silicone Baking Mat. Ingredients- 2 Ripe Bananas, Quick Oats(Do Not Use Steel Cut), Pure Vanilla, Ground Cinnamon(can use stick just use a grater to make into powder) Directions:Preheat Oven 350F, In bowl mash 2 ripe peeled bananas, add 1 cup quick oats, 1/2 Tsp cinnamon, 1 Tsp Vanilla, 1/2 to 1 cup Chocolate or Peanut Butter Chips(Mix well), scoop 1 TBSP onto cookie sheet topped with parchment paper or silicone mat and scrap off using back of Tsp. The mixture will be sticky. Space evenly give about 1 inch between each treat. Bake for 20 mins. Let them cool. Can store in refrigerator in sealed container lined with paper towel for 5 days or make a bunch and store up to 3 months in freezer. Serving size 3 treats. Enjoy!! Tip: If you buy bananas in bulk peel ripe bananas and freeze so you can make these in the future or for banana icecream, smoothies and more.
