The 1,000 Downloads, 0 Users Lesson: Why Great Products Fail
made a critical mistake that cost me hundreds of potential users. Here's the story: About 9 months ago, I built an AI chatbot and released a WordPress plugin for it. I didn't pay much attention to the project after that. Today, out of curiosity, I checked the stats - it had been downloaded over 1,000 times. But here's the problem: Less than 100 people actually came to my site and signed up. This means most people who downloaded the plugin simply deleted it. The Root Cause: When users installed the plugin, they couldn't immediately test the chatbot. They had to leave their WordPress admin, go to my website, create an account, and only then could they try it. This friction was too much - it discouraged most users. The Fix: I just updated the plugin to include an auto-demo chatbot. Now users can test it immediately without any account creation. Let's see if this changes the conversion rate. The Lesson: Building a great product isn't enough. Making it accessible and easy to try is equally important. Don't make users jump through hoops to experience your value. I'm sharing this so you can avoid the same mistake. product : https://chatfromai.com/

@Ahmad Khan Yes, because I wasn't sure if the plugin would be downloadable, and I didn't want to waste too much effort initially. I thought someone who really needed it would just go to the site and create one.

@Dionny Chejito I'm uploading a version that will automatically become a demo now. If it interests him, it will at least motivate him to put in the effort.
Best AI Workflow for Marketing a Mobile App as a Solo Founder?
I’m a developer and recently launched a workout log / tracker app on both the App Store and Google Play. Building products isn’t really my problem — I can ship apps pretty fast. What I struggle with is marketing and distribution. In the AI era, is there actually a workflow/tool stack that people genuinely use and recommend for handling marketing semi-automatically? What I’m looking for is something closer to: generating TikTok / Reels style promo videos creating decent UGC-style content testing hooks/ads automatically posting/scheduling content optimizing app install campaigns maybe even managing creatives like a growth marketer would I tried some AI video generation tools already, but most outputs still feel low quality or require a lot of manual editing afterward. Curious what’s actually working for solo builders / indie hackers right now — especially from people who have real installs and traction, not just theory.

@Muhammad Khan I shared an example, does it resemble what you said? Also, I boosted this but it didn't even get any impressions. I think the account was spammed or something.

Quick question for everyone building an AI agency here 👇
Are you struggling more with: A) Getting clients B) Delivering automations C) Explaining your offer clearly I’ve been focusing a lot on [your specific thing e.g. building AI chatbots, lead gen systems, automations for X industry], and I noticed most people get stuck on [pick one problem]. I recently helped [type of client] with [specific result even small], and it made a big difference. If anyone here is dealing with that, I’m happy to share what worked just comment or DM me.

How would you approach this job?
Hey folks, first post here. I’m thinking of using High Level as CRM and vibe coding and a punctual coder to untangle issues with code to do the following. Would love to have your thoughts on how you would handle this job. 1. Branded Platform & Knowledge Q&A — The first phase is a custom-branded portal where clients can log in, ask AI-powered HR questions, and securely store and access important HR documents. It functions as a private, AI-driven HR help desk. 2. HR Template Generation Engine — The second phase adds the ability for the system to generate HR documents on demand, such as employee handbooks, workplace policies, offer letters, termination procedures, and similar materials. The documents are tailored to each client’s industry, company size, and applicable regulations. The AI produces the first draft, which can then be reviewed and finalized. 3. Client Management & Team Tools — The third phase adds the operational layer: a dashboard for managing multiple clients, supporting collaboration among team members or contractors, and providing analytics on client activity, usage, and performance. It becomes the central system for running and scaling the consulting business. In summary: Phase 1 creates a branded AI-powered HR portal, Phase 2 transforms it into a document-generation engine, and Phase 3 evolves it into a complete practice management platform. Each phase builds on the previous one and expands both capability and business value. Thanks in advance for your input!

My recommendation is to set up your own local system (RAG, tool calling, permissions, etc.), but if you lack technical skills, Vibe coding can be challenging because you won't know how to do things. You could also explore ready-made libraries like Langchain.

🏆 Wins
Small win today, but honestly a big moment for me.
Small win today, but honestly a big moment for me. I got my first real sale on a product I’ve been building: https://chatfromai.com/ No ads, no active marketing — just the product itself. That’s what made it exciting. ChatfromAI is an AI platform that lets businesses build chatbots trained on their own data and automate workflows. From what I’ve seen so far, the biggest opportunity is in Instagram DM automation. The product is already live and working as a SaaS: * Payment system is active * AI infrastructure is fully integrated * Includes Instagram automation * Also supports integrations like Shopify and WordPress I’ve been focused on building the product, but I haven’t pushed the marketing side enough. So I’m looking for people who are strong in: * Marketing * Sales * Growth I’m not offering a fixed salary — this is performance-based. 👉 You bring customers → you earn a recurring share (around 50%) I’ll handle everything on the technical side and keep improving the product. If you’re interested, send me a short message/email introducing yourself, what you’ve done before, and how you would approach growing or selling this product.
Small win today, but honestly a big moment for me.

Thank you for your congratulations, but isn't there anyone who wants to work together? I'll focus on the technical aspects of the product, and I'm looking for team members to handle marketing and growth
