Minimalist Training
I know that there aren’t really universal ‘best exercises.’ But if a beginner wanted a super minimalist routine and just wanted to train the body reasonably well in as little time as possible, what exercises or families of exercises would be ideal picks?

@Ben Yanes in theory could a hip hinge, leg extension and leg curl be relatively complete?

@Ben Yanes also it makes sense why the vertical press isn’t “essential” if one is doing horizontal press, raise and tricep extension variations. I’ve noticed you’ve included both vertical and horizontal pulls. I always felt that the horizontal pull especially chest supported machine row to be one of if not the most bang for buck back exercises because of what it does for both the lats and upper back while vertical pulls are mostly lats. Is there any particular or unique reasons about vertical pulls as to why you would deem it a box definitely worth checking that the horizontal pulls don’t cover?
Biarticular arm muscles
Does the long head of the triceps get neglected in presses because of the shoulder flexion taking place? And biceps get neglected in pull-ups/rows relative to other elbow flexors because of the shoulder extension taking place?

@Ben Yanes does this spectrum (rather than off/on switch) apply to rectus & squats and short head hamstrings & hip hinges?
