Just hit GC last night after 800 hours Was Champ 2 div 4 last night played 30 games and somehow made it here. All I practiced was rotation and picking the right times to hit the ball

Feb was when I bought this steam acc which I made my main account since before I played on epic games only but keep in mind I’ve been c2 for a while and have been playing consistently since the final week of the last season but the climb from C2-GC1 was about 2 weeks give or take a couple days more or less now I’m staying in the GC1 div2-3 range for the last few days

Side note aswell is I found once I went into high C3 the game became a lot more simple to read for me so I flew pretty quickly past high C3 due to my positioning mixed with a quite extensive history of mech consistency, I also mained 1’s shortly before the climb in 2’s for only the purpose of learning and not ranking up so that seemed to help a ton in my 2’s game play also even in gc1 most these guys still don’t have nearly as good of mech consistency as I do so I still strongly believe the only thing I need to reach the high GC2’s is better game sense and some positioning improvements this was also done completely solo queue so right now I’m focusing on more 1’s in private matches against higher ranks aswell as 1’s ranked for improvement on those 2 aspects of the game
How i learned and how long it took me as a current GC1-2 and top 100 rings player how to learn to master DAR aerial Control
It took me 500 hours to roughly master and about 3 months inconsistently of minimal practice and just trying them when I had the chance in casuals and practicing in free play until I got on pc and started doing rings maps but when I was lower ranked what I did when I was also on console was play free play on the map pillars and do figure 8’s until I was comfortable keeping my car straight with minor air roll adjustments then once I was pretty good at that ramping up the speed aswell I just incorporated air roll spins throughout and made it awkward for myself until I slowly but surely ended up figuring out what movements to do to end up going in the desired direction. Just a side mentality tip as well what I learned very quickly is that learning to control aerials/dribbles or even just car control with DAR is that there is no way to really explain how to exactly do it it sort of just comes to you with time and is not easily explained and remember that this is one of the few mechs in the game that just takes time and not so much a precise movement or combination of exact inputs to end up learning so just do what you find helps the most and I recommend to seek becoming awkward while learning DAR car control since that’s the only way I figured out how to gain better control and finer adjustments to end up going where I wanna go and when quickly. I am also top 80 in rings 3 so i have lots of experience with DAR control in the air and have put a ton of time into learning it and still have some areas where I still feel uncomfortable and lose control.

@Lucas Araya Directional Air Roll/ air roll right-left
I normally flip to the left
I normally flip to the left, but on r1/rb I have DAR (directional air roll) right. Should I switch to air roll left? I am pretty used to air roll right

I was the same way and have since learned to use both DAR’s and have about the same skill with both but I would recommend learning air roll left since your main flip choice is left cause learning 2 DAR doesn’t really help you in many ways and sticking to air roll right just further complicates things when you notice your main flip choice is flipping left especially when you factor in power shot flip cancels you’ll want DAR left eventually

What should I try to perfect or train?
I'm a game sense player, but I'm trying to get more mechanical here's what I have trained do far to get to C2 Air dribbles Dribbles Directional air roll(right) Shooting Defense Recoveries Speed flips Shadow Defense Here is what I'm currently working on and trying to perfect Flip resets Wall dash Ground to air dribble Double taps Ceiling challenges What should I do about this or modify to get best results? I'm occasionally facing GCs as well and preferably I would prefer workshop maps or training packs. Hope someone else also finds this useful

I would recommend putting more emphasis on double taps and ground to air dribbles and pop to air dribbles also try to completely master air roll power shots and the placement of them as well since the majority of my goals I hit on the way to nearly GC2 are from either ground to air dribble/just a 2 neutral jump pop or from getting really good angled shots when going for awkward DAR power shots, seems they usually just slot in since no one ever expects them.
Have you ever been toxic?
if you have how many times.
