Do you know what a healthcare or patient advocate is? I wonder if the public knows they are available? - Before reading this post, I didn't think it was someone outside of a relative or loved one or the actual patient. So no and no. Truly mind blown. Have you ever left a doctor's appointment confused and with questions unanswered? YES! Both for myself, aging/aged relatives, younger relatives, and spouse. Would an advocate be useful to you before, during, after surgery, to answer the unanswered questions, to help you through managing a chronic illness, answer in plain language, questions you have about your health? Yes! My concern would be if I'd get to vet or get to know this person first. What if they judge me, don't like me, blame me for the medical situation I'm in etc...so some fears come up around using a service like this...and if I do get to interview them/choose...how would I even begin to do this? The offer - a month with a contingency plan? So many dollars for the first month of 1:1 access and then less per month after if they wish to continue. - I like this format a lot, bc it allows you to be there for an active thing and after care. I think folks will appreciate this. What numbers are you spit balling with so far? Toss some out Is there a place in the market for a year plan? 100% YES. This major diagnosis, 1st year of children's lives, folks raising their aging parents + diagnosis. I would've given my left arm for some one like you in my ear for the first year after my grandma's dementia diagnosis. It was a war zone. I like the bones of this so far, I am intrigued and want to know more! lol, so I'd say you;re off to fantastic start! Keep going!
