What are you reading?
I'm, as always, in the middle of reading multiple books because I get bored so easily these days... But I guess I don't feel guilty about it anymore ever since I went through John's Insight Exposed (sucks for you if you didn't buy it when I promoted it). Anyway. Tell me what you're reading 👀 Don't even have to be business-related or nonfiction. Normal fiction, trashy fiction, steamy hentai... anything goes.

Wanna learn to make stuff with Claude Code?
Does anyone here want to learn how to make weird (or useful) things with Claude Code? @Alex Dobrenko is killing it with his cohort-based Claude workshop, teaching writers/creators to use Claude to make life... a bit happier with all kinds of weird to actually really useful tools. I want Alex to let me sell it to you, so if there's interest, please vote!

I'm stuck on Chat and Cowork, never got to Code because it feels so technical!
Brag about your entrepreneurial past
Have you ever made money outside of your JOB and current business? I wanna know (and brag about my own entrepreneurial past because...) Tell me all the ways you've made money. No judgement. Bake sales, foot pics, whipping people (or being whipped)... anything goes... And if you have never made money in *unconventional* ways, that's cool... take this opportunity to come up with some ideas! (Why? I dunno... it's fun...) Make a list of things you could do... list-making is the epitome of creativity, not talked about enough... Mine: - The beginning was good old tutoring my neighbor's kid back in middle and high school - I ran a print magazine in college for film photography. Sold each issue for $13... which was $1 over the cost of the printing and shipping... it was never gonna pan out. - I once taught people how to do hand-lettering (I have no idea why people were paying me because man I sucked!) - I've made websites for people - I took photos for artists' and actors' "portfolios" - One artist couple hired me to design their yearly TriBeca artwalk booklet (24 pages, $1,350... covered that month's rent last minute... whew... NYC rent is no joke, even way back when). - A chick in NYC paid me $5 to take her photo with my Polaroid... 👇

- sat by the road and used a clicker to count cars, apparently for some survey company (was listening to Avril Lavigne on repeat back then lol to pass time) - taught swimming to kids and adults - drop shipping (that eventually led me discover copywriting as a career) - gave a crash course to a friend on analysing a company's balance sheet/P&L - did financial accounting for a paleo meal company - played a sport because that particular tournament had cash prizes - sell specialty coffee from my home Great thread! Got reminded of what I did...and how I'd do differently now that I have a different set of skills...
Your favorite apps and tools?
I can't live without these: Kit (email/newsletter) WordPress (my whole business is on the WordPress ecosystem) Canva (graphics, some docs, presentations, etc.) CoSchedule (project planner) Tweek (daily-to-do list) Notion (long-term planning, info products) Skool (community) Obsidian (journaling) Zoom (meetings) Calendly (booking) Google Workspace (Docs, Forms, Sheets, Email)

wow Tweek looks so clean! I love apps like this. Mine: Things 3. Bear. Apple Notes/Reminders. Google workspace. Spokenly (voice dictation). Trying to get back into Notion for content planning too. Do you write on a specific app/tool? I was looking at iA writer but it seems expensive. Saw kraa.io recently and going to give it a try.
Next week? (Jan 12-18)
Last week I mostly focused on the workshop and an impromptu sale on the SEO course. Here's this week's agenda: - MPL 1: affiliate promo incoming - MPL 2: work on the Mastery Session for the Vault - Continue working on the workshop - MPL 3: Work on a new blog post
