Which DAW do I buy?
Okay, I’ve decided it’s time that I bite the bullet, dive in to production, and buy a DAW. I feel like this is the perfect place to get some direct advice from experienced producers. I’ve narrowed it down to Logic vs. Ableton, below are my initial thoughts on both: Logic - I like the UI more- I can’t deny that I’m an Apple fanboy at heart, and one of the reasons is the UI on their products is unmatched. I started making mashups on GarageBand and have familiarity with that UI, an Logic (I think) has a very similar layout. - Seems easier to learn than Ableton, which I hear has a very steep learning curve - Cheaper than Ableton(beside the basic $99 plan) - Seems to be more a well rounded DAW Ableton - I hear it’s best for live performances(live is literally in the name) - I hear it’s “better” for electronic music(not really sure why) - “rent to own” option is cool(monthy payments, but will have full ownership eventually once full price of software is paid for) I’m kind of leaning towards Ableton bc I’m more interested in EDM/electronic production right now, and I don’t want the challenge of learning a new software to be a reason why I don’t get it. Or, should it be? Like is Ableton being "hard to learn" enough of a reason to get Logic before I get Ableton? I’m pretty confident that I’ll be able to get the hang of it eventually. Am I missing any factors that should influence my decision? Am I overthinking this? Probably lol. I've seen a lot of people say it doesn't really matter that much, but wanted to get y'all's opinion. Anyways if anyone has any helpful advice let me know! Thanks guys! :)
Jay Sean - Down (Aaron Shirk Remix)
Got another one I'd love to hear some thoughts on. Just started posting this one on socials and everyone has been loving it so far, and tbh this one easily one of my favorites I've ever made so it'a special one fosho. Goal is to keep posting on socials to generate hype then drop it in a month or so This is pretty final, BUT I def wanna hear what anyone has to say about it. Cheers!!! https://soundcloud.com/aaronshirk/jay-sean-down-aaron-shirk-remix-mv2/s-ztYTXKglfvf

Introooo
What’s up everyone, my name is PJ McManus (artist name is Peej). I’m 23 from the Boston area but currently living in Tampa, FL. I started making EDM about 2 years ago working on FL Studio. My fav genre is Progressive House and I’d say I take a lot of inspiration from Audien, Gryffin, Avicii, and the 🐐 himself Alex Leondis. Right now I mainly make remixes on Soundcloud, but I want to transition to creating mostly originals. My dream is become a full time music producer and do shows. I am so excited to meet and connect with everyone! 🤝🤝

intro
What up! My name is Alex Greve. I'm from Texas, but currently live in Nashville(went to Belmont U and graduated in May). I had always wanted to get into DJing and production, so my grad gift to myself was a FLX4! I've been having so much fun with it and I still have a lot to learn. This year though, I really want to dive in to making my own remixes, and just production in general alongside continuing the DJ grind. My general inspiration is somewhere in the electro pop, prog house, melodic dance pop world. I've always loved EDM and pop music ever since I was a kid. I always felt the emotion and rhythm of the songs deeply, but for some reason it wasn't until recently that I realized I could be making music of my own that can impact and inspire others just like the music I grew up listening to did for me. I know that I have a long journey ahead of me as an artist, but I'm here for the whole ride. I want to learn as much as I can from you guys and use this space to lift up and inspire others as much as I can. I also wanted to shout out Leondis for making all of this happen! I think we've all been looking for a community like this filled with like minded people who have similar goals and aspirations. So thank you again Alex :) Super pumped and excited to do this with y'all!
