This song and this Guitar mean a lot to me, the song because my Dad used to love it, he didn’t speak English but he was always amazed by the “dramatic” vocals, so I wanted to dedicate this song to Him, wherever His soul may be in the vast Universe, always present and protecting us. The Guitar means a lot because it was given to me on my first Father’s Day (2018), at that point my son was 8 months old (now he’s almost 8 y/o), and I decided to outline our 3 hands (Wife’, Son’ & Mine) at the back of the Guitar (that BTW I show at the end of the song 😁), this Guitar is the 3rd and last of my “everyday workhorses”, and the most representative. About the Guitar: Gibson Les Paul Faded T 2017 Worn Cherry, maple top and neck, mahogany back, rosewood fretboard. Neck Pickup: 490R Humbucker, Bridge Pickup: 490T Humbucker, Slim Taper Neck Profile. About the song: Standard tuning. Pretty straightforward, the Chords: G – B – C – Cm (although, I didn’t use Cm, I think I’m not experienced enough yet to fit it in the song being busy with EFX changes, but I will figure it out eventually). This song is more built “around the drum and bass” the Guitar is slightly more at the back of the arrangement to let the voice come forward, it was an interesting track to study and learn (on the guitar and the actual structure of the recording itself). The EFX: Glitz Reverb, Chorus, 60’s Bias Tremolo a Simple Delay and a Ganymede Reverb to hold or “freeze” the notes coming out of distortion into clean Guitar, this effect is not in the original track, I added it as a “personal touch transition”, BTW, this time I recorded the track to my DAW and has pretty much no editing to the original sound only a compressor for the MAINS. I hope you like the final product, I will keep sailing my way to try to master the Guitar one day. Rock & Roll! 🤘🏼💀🎸

Second song is here! It’s not meant to be clean or beautiful, it’s GRUNGE! I mistook 2 notes during the solo (and maybe many, many others along the road 😅), just the transitions between EFX messing with my brain 🧠. I went through studying the song and the tones … not that easy, although it may look like they simply thrown distortion and modulation here and there, there is a quite complex structure behind Nirvana. I know not everyone likes it (in the past me included), but it was a really interesting journey going through the song and a really nice playing and learning experience, thanks to @Manuel Acevedo for the help again, deeply appreciated!. The tuning: D standard. The song: Come As You Are. The Guitar: Sunburst Gibson Melody Maker 2001, Mahogany body and neck with rosewood fretboard. The strings wrap around the bridge, in my opinion it’s a bit hard to have proper intonation as there’s no tune-o-matic to adjust it. Single P90, I swear has a really nice high output. A really easy guitar to play, extremely lightweight as is half the thickness of the LP. If you fret a bit deep you change the pitch easily 😅 (my experience), this guitar is the second of my "every day workhorses". Hope you like it … Rock & Roll! 🤘🏼💀🎸

I started studying this song from scratch. I still have things and details to work on, but so far this is what I have accomplished. I will keep working on this song, but at the same time I will start moving to my next one, I think I will study something less “demanding” to my fingers, because yes! They still hurt a bit from this intensive month of solos and endless repetitions of Knocking On Heaven’s Door (OUCH!). Calluses are coming back big time! Thanks to @Manuel Acevedo for the guidance doing some parts and techniques! He saw the raw sloppy videos when I started doing recordings, by the way I have “scenic panic”! I swear I play better without the pressure of the camera recording me. About the guitar: Gibson LPJ 2011 (2013 release) Gold Top Satin (hardware comes original in black), Mahogany body & maple top, neck 50's profile with rosewood fingerboard; 490R (Alnico II) at the neck and 498T (Alnico V) at the bridge humbuckers, Gibson gave this guitar the approximate sound of traditional 1950's PAFs, 22 Medium-Jumbo frets, very nice sustain because it's pure solid wood, by the way, IT IS HEAVY! This guitar is one of my everyday 3 workhorses. Rock & Roll!!! 🤘🏼💀🎸
