Just wrapped recording the new course. Make a Song Without Being a Musician, steps 1-3 of the Music Film System. This is the song I built live during it. No prep, no do-overs. I ran the system on camera and this is what came out. Is it AI slop? Maybe. Is it stuck in my head? Also maybe. Pretty soon you'll be able to do this with your own thing. Someone from another community challenged me to take this text message song and make my own version so i did. Attached both versions. Thought i would share.

You know that tag on your mattress that says "under penalty of law this tag not to be removed"? I turned it into a dead-serious outlaw country anthem. Every word of the chorus is the actual tag. The government wrote the hook, I just added the sad cowboy. It's about a man who's been running for thirty years for cutting one off. Then I started playing around and rebuilt it as a trap remix — violin as the drums, 808s, whole different engine under the same words. This one challenged me. No faces. No dramatic moments. No explanation. Just a brass doorknob from a child’s point of view and a single line: “I learned to read the weather in your voice before I learned to read.” I’ve been exploring how little you can show while still saying everything. Sometimes the audience does the rest of the storytelling. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this approach. Does restraint make the emotion hit harder?

This past week or so I've been testing the song making part of the workflow for the make a music film without being a musician course that I'm working on.
