Patterns
Good morning everyone! Yesterday all I wanted to do was work on a pattern. We did the same pattern we have done previously using the question box. We did it only for 20 mins as he was hunting for the box, stopping in the box without being corrected and relaxing there, I finished up and gave him some licorice, is this enough for one session? (My downfall is not knowing when to quit, so I am really working on that).

@Eliza Lane agreed!!
Hemp and what it’s about
No your horse won’t get high!!! It’s the number one question and seriously hemp is not marijuana 😂🤦‍♀️ Hemp is an holistic herb, meaning it’s not just for one job. It’s a powerful anti inflammatory, it is a quality omega that assists joints and the brain, it balanced the body back to homeostasis- so it can heal. Amazing for skin and hair (shiny horses!) and calms the nervous system. It’s great for itchy horses too! Make sure it’s Australia - lots of it bought in from china unfortunately, which is dead. Any questions feel free to ask. It’s my passion.

We had a hemp vendor at a horse show here in the US and she had some different topical products that worked extremely and amazingly well even for humans so I definitely second this post!!
Soft Hands
Those of you who have had horsemanship lessons, I’m sure you have heard the term soft feel and soft hands before. There’s a huge misunderstanding though, that soft hands are not solid. They are very solid when it comes to holding - when a horse has resistance you’ll see many people pull, but the key is to hold - like a solid tree trunk in the ground. No give, but no take either - it’s a hold. Firm, without fight - just hold. But when the horse gives we must soften, slow down and give A LOT. it’s a tough concept to get your head around - so later this week I’ll launch the soft hands course. 6 really good exercises for you and your horse to soften and build the lightness that feels like magic. At half the price of a lesson and lifetime access it’s a great way to start the new year!

I definitely agree with the post. If you start soft, you can finish soft. Of course, there are times when you have to meet or surpass what the horse gives to be able to get it to right "spot" or position but getting back to that soft release is the only way to go!!! Great post
Show prep feed
Just changed my horses food to Ultium competition by Purina in prep for next years show season for my 2 year old mare. I used to feed her more of an average Omelone type grain with Essential K for added protein. I can tell that the Ultium is very high in usable nutrients and I might reduce her added EK because it looks like she's getting all she needs from the new feed. As her workload increases, I'll keep track and post an update!
