It blows my mind, I’m 58 and while I’ve danced with the idea that I’m ADHD joining this community has left me with no doubt! I’ve been on a healing journey for a couple of years and what I’m discovering is that the more we reveal about ourselves the faster the growth! I’m excited to be in this community while I continue my journey. I feel I have a lot of value to bring … I’m thankful for the insight I’ve gained. I’m currently navigating, am I ADHD, am I Bipolar 2 or have I been living with an anxiety disorder I never realized I had. Or am I dysregulated due to chronic stress. I suspect I’m on the spectrum for ADHD, bipolar 2 and anxiety. I believe my nervous system has been dysregulated for as long as I remember. I have the fortuity of watching my father and my daughter, not the fact that they have struggled but the insight this has provided me. My father was diagnosed with dementia at the age of 60 … my gut tells me he had bipolar 2 accompanied by chronic stress and was misdiagnosed, he likely did have dementia in the last 3-5 years, he passed away at 84. (This is just an observation so I hold it loosely) My daughter has just been diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 23 “her psychiatrist said she is classic ADHD undiagnosed” now I see it, I can’t unsee it and it has reflected so much back at me. I believe dementia is compound, I truly believe without the insight I have gained, I likely would not heal, I feel so much gratitude for the self awareness and I am thankful for this amazing community, the last few years have been very isolating for me and slowly I am finding my people 🙏
