@Bernhard Len Hi Bernhard, thanks for your question! Spain will always feel like home - the sunshine, the Mediterranean lifestyle, and above all, being close to my family. When you live far away, you really understand how grounding and important that support system is. Canada, on the other hand, truly surprised me in the best possible way. My time in Vancouver was unforgettable. I fell in love with the wild beauty of the landscapes and the constant connection with nature. I also really appreciated how multicultural the environment is; you meet people from everywhere, and it opens your mind in ways you don’t expect. I definitely feel much more open-minded now because of that. Another thing I loved was how easy it is to stay active - hiking, skiing, water sports… there’s always something to do outdoors. Of course, there were also challenges. Coming from Spain, where we are lucky to enjoy so many sunny days, the autumn and winter in Vancouver were much harder than I imagined - the lack of sun really affected my mood. And I have to say… Spanish food is simply on another level! We have one of the best gastronomies in the world, and I missed it a lot. Professionally, it was also humbling. In Spain I had my degree, my master’s, and five years of work experience - but in Canada none of that was officially recognized. It definitely teaches you humility and resilience when you suddenly have to start proving yourself again. Overall, Spain is home for the heart - and Canada became a powerful chapter of growth, discovery, and perspective.
