you need at least 32 gigs of ram to comfortably edit, i dont think your macbook air would have that if you are a video editor and you dont motion graphics or work with heavy project files you should definetly upgrade not just to make more out of editing, but to save more time on work, cause if you can do the same videos in half the time you are basically making 2x an hour
